I knew that shit was clunky!

E - Sapling Toss COST 60 mana at all ranks ⇒ 60/65/70/75/80 mana BASE DAMAGE 45/70/95/120/145 ⇒ 25/50/75/100/125 ENEMY HEALTH RATIO 6/6.5/7/7.5/8% (+2% per 100 ability power) target’s max health ⇒ 8% (+2% per 100 ability power) target’s max health
Is sapling terror over?
Is it me, or are all these Rammus changes effective nerfs to his early clear? No more armour reduction on E, only about as much raw damage from his passive but since it's magic damage and not physical anymore it's effectively less, he can't dive as well since he's slowed during his W (which also means less damage since he can't chase if he has to active it), etc.

I seem to remember there being a 40% AS increase on his kit that refreshes if one of his abilities are active aswell.

I hope not, I've had so many lol monents playing mao support!
His E gives him from 20% to 40% AS for the duration of the taunt, but since he's only got 0.625 base AS and a long wind-up on his animation it doesn't look like it'll do much for him at first glance.
Rammus needs a jungle rework to make a comeback so its not really relevant.

wtf alaric -magic damage is better than physical damage because monsters have 0/-30~ mr and like 5-20 armour -armour reduction on E clearly worse than 20% attack speed
the other changes i guess are up for debate, ball curl has a tiny cd now but it makes him slow. Swiftness boots are probably a good buy. I imagine they'll cut down on the W speed penalty. CC on R is probably really good.
I think he'll be a decent top lane counter pick.
think maokai is pretty good now
i dont like his ult but everything else is pretty good and e is a 1 point wonder now his passive is just retarded
ADC in 2017, Round 2.. Feed!
Botrk was already on its way out of the meta again, Xayah and Cait are the strongest ADCs right now.
But Cait just got nerfed anyway.
The Maokai rework is the dumbest shit Riot's done in a long time. Why the fuck would you take a tank, nerf the shit out of its tankiness, and replace it with a cheese ability that does over 16% of a target's max health? Get rid of that shit and make so his ult is actually useful and doesn't get blocked by the first person in the way.
yeah maokai rework is pretty retarded. i liked maokai a lot too.
He's fun as hell to use now. Not sure about playing against though!
Finally saw the new ult in game this morning. Took forever to go anywhere. It probably still hasn't ended.
I do feel like the Maokai rework was really random and not needed. That seems to happen often (see also Gragas, Cait, Kog...), I don't see how the new one is better (or worse) long term.
Maokai in my mind is like heimerdinger (before this patch). Incredible boring and a pain to deal with. Nothing more or less. The old maokai was one of my favourite champions, so I'm not a fan.
From the games I've played so far, new Heimer seems very strong. Not really sure why they thought this would make him less oppressive to melee champions. Before smart players could at least play around his lasers; now if they ever walk up to a creep and get hit by an E, there goes 70% of their health. I haven't played any of the more skill based melee match ups like Riven or Yasuo though, so I'll have to see how those go.
yea his early game is even more insane then it used to be. Played heimer vs nasus last night which is always an easy matchup just a bit difficult early if they are good.
I played against a complete shitter heimer that was missing all his abilities and I was still getting poked out of lane as nasus. He went triple D-ring and its just endless bombs missiles and turret replacements (wtf is the new cd on turrets, he could literally spawn 3 new ones whenever, no counterplay)
But eventually heimer still had the same problems, I had 300 stacks and triforce-mercs and then just randomly 2 shot him without ult after not touching him for a while, and then he could never get within 1000 distance of me again
They really need to nerf Dring. The triple ring infinite mana super safe laning shit in top is out of hand.
I had a really lulzy 1v1 in ARAM Darius vs Maokai. It took so long for either of us to die between his passive and the heal on Darius Q. That bonus 200AD and Ult damage from passive managed to seal the deal... eventually.
But I love it when my opponent goes triple doran's and I shit on them anyway. New Heimer gets a shitload of turrets, but they're also easier to kill since they no longer regenerate health. Against Nasus, you always reach a point where either you land your E in the middle of your turrets and then hopefully are ahead enough that you can just burst him down, or you just die.
i knew they overbuffed zac, 55% winrate and raising zzzzzzzzzzz

whats everyones opinion on corrupting pot vs dring and 2 pots? are there any calculations available that show whats better? i usually go bottle if i have tp or if i feel im gonna get smashed in lane and want the extra regen, and dring for every other case but thats just me. how does everyone else decide which opening you want to go?

Dring is a lot more mana sustain than corrupting pot, and more spell damage. Unless you're going for long auto trades every time you have corrupting pot up, you'll probably do more damage with the dring as well.
Corrupting pot is more gold efficient over the course of a game, but since top laners don't really hurt for item slots anyways, picking up a few dring's so you can constantly use spells to push the lane is fine.
Always Doran's Ring or Shield. Corrupting Potion is so two patches ago.
actually i was thinking of mid lane more than top. the choices for mid lane ap champs are refillable + dark seal/corrupting pot/dring +2 pot. (excluding unique builds like boots + 4 pot etc.) refillable + dark seal is pretty much for like...kassadin/kat only but the other 2 can be picked up by pretty much anyone. i still think corrupting pot is better with tp in mid lane but im not sure id consider it a rule so i was wondering if anyone else had their own guidelines.

http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/competitive/10-bans-regular-play-coming-soon
There is a chance of duplicated bans across teams. Giving visibility into the enemy bans before time runs out causes the strongest strategy to be waiting until the closing moments to bait-and-switch bans with your opponent, which sounds unfun. This also reduces the chance of certain meta champions being banned across every game. Y’all know who we mean.
Noooo I wanted Yasuo gone for good
well i know for sure i wont see him in any of my games
I think I'll just have Shaco permbanned whenever Fizz is not in the meta. Shaco games aren't even standard League, they're like cannon rush games in sc2. I hate Yasuo but he's a popular ban and I don't consider him that bad, it's the playerbase that I cannot stand.
I for one am looking forward to the "only yasuo is banned" drafts.
You won't be able to ban a champion already banned by your team.
I've always thought yasuo was bad design, but why do people hate him now?
On May 20 2017 08:45 cLutZ wrote: I've always thought yasuo was bad design, but why do people hate him now? The usual "on their team vs on my team" bullshit.
He's not fun to play against, he gets so much free shit on low cooldowns while you have to manage your resources carefully. He also gets to spam his dash in lane, making him annoying like a fly. And lastly, people hate Yasuos in their team because they tend to feed early, which makes your games harder since you have to play against a fed laner or jungler.
Nothing to do with balance. He's also not a problem in higher leagues because people there bothered to read his ability descriptions once so they understand his weaknesses.
There are just too many cancer champs in the game atm. Yasuo is just one of them.
Lets not forget about Riven either.
I can exactly explain it, but yasou is different than the others, he is skewing the whole game into a different direction. Somehow, regardless of if he is ahead or behind, useless or dominating, all 9 other members in the game have to change their play style and regular behavior when there is Yasou in it. When your yasou is behind you don;t defend/play the map the same way when another champ is behind even if its riven or vayne. When your yasou is ahead you don't push your lead the same way you do it when another member is ahead. Same goes when you play against him. Unfortunately, I really cannot explain it what is it, probably I don't really understand the game that good, but I feel it and I am positive that others feel it too. Yasou twists the whole game towards himself, which is overall annoying for most people.
He is like a personage from a different game.
I think lee is similar to yasou in that regard, but somehow he cannot do it throughout the whole game, at some point he becomes a regular champ
The main tilter with yasuo is how he has a brainless 1 button which negates most things.
lmao
Starting up league after not having played seriously for about two years. This new Rakan champ seems broken as fuck, I'm gonna play him till they nerf him...
but ur sona win% is better!
The main thing I hate about yasuo is that even if you dumpster him in lane and he goes 0/6, once he hits 2 items he can still blow up half your team.
Yasuo is the perfect example of how impossible it is to balance a high skill cap champion. Anyone with extremely good mechanics will have a massive edge when playing him in pretty much any matchup or situation. Other examples include old Ryze, old LeBlanc, and Cass (that Faker game two days ago is a perfect example of how ridiculous the champion is if you play her to the extreme). It essentially becomes less about the difference in skill of the two players, and just 'How good can this guy play Yasuo'.

So true, ironically that is one of the easier parts of his kit to use well, and arguably the most powerful.

Pretty garbage in the hands of a button spammer, but when you fully understand all the cancels and weaving and so on, the immense flexibility, mobility, and damage makes her really hard to balance. A lot of champs either have the tools necessary to deal with her, or they don't and get crushed.

Fuuuck, just realized I'll still have to play with Shacos in my team. NOoooooo
I think I'll just start to play only duoQ so I'll never ever have to see Riven or Yasuo again~
is there any reason not to build GA on every possible AD dealer now in every possible situation, composition or position?
New buffs on Rammus feel surprisingly good. Only just recently got to try him out, but clear is much less aweful than it was. The extra damage and shorter cool down on W really speed up your clear vs the many monster camps.
Getting a leash on red lets you go raptors wolves and get a fairly quick level three with good health and leave you in position to gank mid. Then you cross your fingers blue doesn't get taken and if that works out it's a great start.
Edit: for a less risky path you can start W, get leash on red, level q, then go raptors, blue, wolves, eat fruit if it's there and then gank. This doesn't put you at risk of having your blue stolen while you gank, but it's meaningfuly slower on gank timing.

These classes make no sense to me at all.
Makes sense since his primary usage is as an ability based poke machine.

Yeah, artillery mage is actually a pretty good way to describe midgame Jayce. He's close to the Unique class since early game he's a hybrid Diver/Artillery archetype, and transitions more and more to Artillery as the game goes on.
But any classification of League champions is going to be crappy. If I defined a "dog" to be an animal with 4 legs and fur and a wagging tail, you'd get contrarians who are like "I knew a three legged dog, is he no longer a dog? Are cats dogs because they have 4 legs? Are hairless dogs still dogs?" and conclude that the "dog" label is useless.
This classification does pretty well though I think there's too much AD/AP influence on the splits. A true classification system, in my mind, is mostly agnostic towards whether you build AD or AP, and you would expect champs like Vladimir to share some traits with Darius instead of being totally separate.

A true classification system, in my mind, is mostly agnostic towards whether you build AD or AP, and you would expect champs like Vladimir to share some traits with Darius instead of being totally separate. I think the issue with the seeming AD/AP splits in the qualifications is how you get the champion to work. How do you make characters that would build AD and work like a mage? If they're melee, the end up being a diver or skirmisher. If they're ranged, they end up being Marksman most of the time. AD champions don't really have the tools to operate in "mage" situations most of the time due to flatter itemization.
AD champs also don't work like AP champions because their quickly become OP/UP based on the number of auto attacks they can weave into combos. If Zed can 1-combo a carry at 3 items with 2 Autos, but really can only get 1 in in most fights, that is really important. Also if all the sudden Zeds are getting off 4, 5, & 6 autos off in teamfights (I've counted, they almost never do) Zed is all of the sudden a whole new champ that does burst and sustained DPS.
That's not really what the main strength of Jayce is though, maybe a few years ago but not now. It's not even uncommon for Jayce builds to skip tear because of this.
It was his main strength as early as Lethality buff. Now he has no main strength because Riot did the old "let's make this too strong and then make it too weak" balancing act.

I've posted about this before but, uh, wow, Amumu / Galio is insanely strong. I would put it it at top three best combos in the game. With a Galio that correctly times his ult, it almost always wins a teamfight if the Amumu lands a decent ult.
I actually think it makes support Amumu totally viable. Support Amumu's biggest weakness was always a lack of tankiness/damage, but with Amumu's new passive and Galio's damage reduction both of those are solved, and Amumu can now build Talisman/Righteous Glory and focus solely on getting into position for a good ult.
er i think support amumu's biggest weakness is that he was basically an awful leona in lane. easy to play around and less scary on all-in's especially pre6
if i really wanted the galio amumu combo i'd take him jungle over support. especially over coin amumu. sounds like 1v2 ing lane and hoping you don't get snowballed on
and galio anything is pretty strong atm, champs busted
anyone knows why some streamers are blocking vision on their minimap?
Stream sniping? They probably stream without delay so its important. Remember that the streamers can see their minimap even if the stream shows it covered.
yeah it's to prevent stream sniping without having to set up a delay, which makes interacting with the viewers harder. For me blocking the minimap is a mistake anyway, as a spectator I like looking at the minimap, so I never watch streams with blocked minimap.

Ah. A skin for a champion that's never going to be seen come 10 ban system. Nice.
most league players dont even play ranked and yasuo is in a lot of normals, these 2 skins are going to make them so much money lol.
Now if only they did cash grabs like this for less popular champ skins to be funded, but they dont.
Some of these skins are very high production value, but I feel like they should come out with more, even if a guy like me doesn't buy them. Where is a creepy-looking pale Danish Taliah named after Bjergson?
