HEALING BUGFIX Fixed an issue where all items that grant omnivamp would heal double the intended amount
So Riftmaker is actually even worse?
The patch after they buff Akali from 15/15 to 20/20 they nerf her to 5/5. I'm now 100% sure that the people in charge of ARAM balance doesn't actually play the gamemode and only mindlessly look at numbers.

Riot always does this with new champs. Their philosophy is the first few days of play are critical to the popularity of a champ. If they suck early on then most of the player base ignores them and regardless of later changes, the play rate does not increase.
Only played a few games against Gwen so can't say whether she's good or bad, but it was very frustrating to be an adc in front of Gwen. If I step forward she can kill me and if stay back I can't hit her for 5 seconds. God damn windwalls.
I think aside from a numbers tweak(aka the hotfix buff revert) so that her early game damage isn't so obnoxious, she needs to go targetable if she's attacking. It's pretty easy to get into a scenario where she is autoattacking you and you can't even attack her back.
Pretty much xin ulti on a basic ability, which is dumb AF
I just beat Gwen (my 1st game vs her) with Malph with armor runes and grasp coz I thought I am vs Garen who went mid. I did not feel her being strong, however, I am a former diamond player who stopped actively playing for the last 2.5 seasons and I am in gold 3 now, so maybe I am outclassing the player, however, is it me or people play so much better than 3 years ago. I've lost skill I dont argue that, but I feel like I am playing in mid Plat atm. People freeze, manipulate lanes, rotate for objectives, know match ups, power spikes. Micro has always been one of my weak sides, but now, often I find it hard to outplay even gold players and some of them are simply piloting their champs better and faster than me. I am honestly impressed or maybe I really fell that hard, not sure. Anyway my point is that if armor runes grasp Malph can beat Gwen, I doubt that she is a good laner.
pre first buy: Gwen should abuse her level 1 to gain enough of a life/potion lead, if she does it correctly she wins pre first base(in the Malphite example she should be actively pushing you off the wave with her E level 1)
First buy to mythic: If Gwen used her pre first buy to get a head, she can be even or possible ahead, if she didn't she's very weak/behind
mythic=Monster
pre hotfix the champion was a very weak laner who scaled great into the late game, the hotfix makes it a lot easier to get through the lane because you can abuse her base stats in the pre buy to get enough of a lead to not get farmed before mythic purchase
her level 1 E is 4 sec uptime with a 13 sec cd, but auto attacking once cuts the cd in half, it also comes with an auto reset and a dash attached, so she gets to dictate when the trade starts and when it ends. It's extremely abusive if your character does not have the option to take a skill that increases dps lvl1, like Malphite
if you aren't a phase rush champion you can't really do anything until level 2
here is an example of Caps executing what I'm talking about (lane phase starts at :50)
So thoughts on Gwen now? Imo her invun is incredibly frustrating for many champs to play against, it's like playing a Xin Fiora hybrid. I had to blind pick Aatrox into her, and even with a super jungle camp I struggled to do any damage to her, you're either inside the box and do minimum damage with Q, or outside and your Q bonus dmg hitbox does 0 damage .

So far mine are: Garbage against statcheck champs but decent against everything else.
What do you consider a stat checker atm? I hate Viego the more I see him, his snowball is basically Kha/Kayn level, if he gets ahead he becomes a DPS assassin tank and it's not fun. And it's so easy to reach that point because he basically destroys everything if you trade aa with him. Very solid low MMR champion imo, he isn't actually that difficult.

Things like Jax, Panth and Trynd run her completely over. I've had two games where she got utterly destroyed, to the point it was just straight up cyber bullying, by a Riven but that's probably Riven OTPs so I dont know if it counts since Gwen still relatively new.
Viego is Duskblade Yi levels of frustrating with the BS he can pull out of his ass with the passive, most notable the heal. Really like the idea behind his design tho.
regarding viego, historically when junglers were capable of being as good or even better in lane, they were always an issue. Happening with Lee sin atm too
I haven't seen a Gwen or Viego do well in soloq in forever. Gwen is a lategame menace but loses lane to almost everyone except pure tanks like Sion/Malphite. Viego can only get through lane in mid but even then later he still gets oneshot by everything anyway. You have to sidelane him but he loses side to everyone as well. I do feel like the coding on Gwen W is a bit wonky though, it feels like it always takes .5 sec to update who's inside which isn't ideal.
I have also not seen a Gwen do particularly well in my games yet, despite how bs her kit feels she does not seem to actually do anything. I don't even think her late game is that great, she's a good duelist but that's it. Maybe people need more time to play her.
I was mainly thinking of jungle Viego, he gets shafted in lane. Hence the Kayn/Kha comparison, if you don't kick his teeth in before minute 10 and he gets a kill, he just runs around murdering camps and champs at breakneck speed without real counterplay. My Yone game he burst my Syndra every fight faster than my ult animation, think it was W from fog into Q AA R. Then he would turn around and kill me with 4 aa, only moderately fed when he came online. Another game, my jungle Viego did 69k dmg in 32 minutes, I don't think I've ever seen a champion do that much damage outside an ARAM match where Vayne was rolled into 4 tanks. He is squishy, but with his passive if he snowballs he is legit unkillable.
I think lategame Gwen's ulti is really good, you can spam it both for poke and to threaten engage, you should almost always use it as your opener. For Viego I guess it's also that I mostly play champs with some form of CC and/or brawlers so either he's CCd or he gets statchecked. I guess if your team sucks at dealing with him he's oppressive but that goes for a lot of champs in the game.
