I know, I didn't forget. Will darkness later.

Also, using Savagery’s dash (which was just supposed to make up for Q’s cast time) as generic movement speed both contributes to his overall mobility and looks really dumb, so we’re lowering the range to make it distance-neutral. If you’re really attached to spamming buttons to try and look cool, just play Riven
Glad I wasn't the only one who thought Rengars spamming Q to move faster was just dumb
Zyra Plants don’t auto-target champions on spawn if a closer enemy target exists. Q costs more mana.
Doesn't this make support Zyra very bad in lane? Do I have to auto attack an enemy champion to make my plants focus him? I'm not sure I understand this change.

its a pretty big nerf
you have to land the Q for it to attack enemy champions (unless there are no minions)
its mainly to prevent zyras from chucking q's at plants in a minion wave and chunking the adc regardless of whether the skillshot actually hits
interesting to see riot take a more conservative approach with their nerfs in the last few patches doesnt seem like they want to shift the meta atm

It's a very pro-player focused patch. It is unusual for every single nerf to be targeted at a LCS meta champion this early in the season.
Lethality is still a problem generally. There are a lot of lethality abusers in solo queue that are OP and untouched: Quinn, J4, Wukong, etc. Edge of Night for starters is certainly getting nerfed soon.
That being said, I don't think KhaZix, Jayce, and Rengar were strong just because of Edge of Night. But I would think that they and Jhin are still going to be strong so long as stacking lethality is good.

Come on, Jhin doesn't need that much for his 4th auto or his ult to deal 600+ damage in one hit.
|
(Jhin builds lethality and does more)
|
I mean, if we're really killing the joke, Jhin doesn't even really need lethality to do it and I was aiming more at his dumb and unclean design.
|
my only complain for jhin is his ult
hate that it slows and can be used to engage from like 4k+ range. pretty sure that's not what the designers envisioned when creating that ability

I agree that Jihn needs a change. Too easy to hit a guy with one of the shots and catch him out basically forever unless there is a thresh lantern about. One simple fix is increasing the cooldown to a long timer like Karthus Ult so Jihns really are afraid of using it in a non-combat situation to fish for a pick. Another is to make the Jihn ult stacking to proc the slow like a weird Vayne W, so you need to hit the same guy 2x in a row to get a slow.
Right now Jihn is just boring for pro play, and he doesn't reward good ADC players.
|
I do think Jhin rewards good play, but the ult is certainly 'problematic'.
For me the most obvious solutions would be lowering the frequency of the shots, decreasing the slow, or decreasing the duration of the slow, so one can actually dodge further bullets. The slow from long ways away, even though shorter, would still be enough to garuantee kills at times.

Seems like a major improvement. I do have concerns and hopes. My concern is the long-ass time between the end of regular seasons and worlds (and the good teams get less real games) . My hope is that this seems like it will be the best worlds group stage.
|
That Worlds format is so much better.
Timing reference: Summer playoffs for LCS ended August 28th. Regionals ended September 5th. Worlds is set to September 23rd.
So if things stay roughly the same, we'd only be looking at ~2.5 weeks between local tournaments wrapping up and Worlds starting.
|
Round 1 of the play-in stage needs seeding.
Not sure if I like like retiring the International Wild Card events, these were the only winnable tournaments for teams from wildcard regions.
