l0l that Kennen nerf. ;_;
|
+ Show Spoiler [CS/OW spectating discussion] +CS:GO is aided by being a very clean game visually. There isn't any crazy particles in the game, the most glaring being flashbangs, smoke grenades, and molotov cocktail/incendiary grenades which don't need to be tinted for team alignment like abilities in League do.
The game is paced well. Rounds last around 2 minutes at the most and the benefit of even planting the bomb is enough that the Terrorist side has to take their time. So you don't have people just running around into firefights seemingly willy nilly.
The downtime between rounds is focused on the economy aspect of the game, which aids winning teams, helps rubberband matches to keep things interesting, and rewards teams for winning convincingly or losing gracefully.
Imo, the only issue with CS:GO from a spectator side, imo, is they could do with some more static cameras in areas.

Wait, Kalista's Rend now gives refund when killing a single unit? is that really a good idea, that's a pretty big laning phase buff, but it will only change her interactions in lane, which I didn't think was the problem.
Also Draven snowball buff by the looks of it, idk if that's what he needed either.
l0l that Kennen nerf. ;_;
They shifted his power, it's not a complete nerf. Now he can't blow up your whole team in 1s if he's fed in the mid game. Interestingly, Riot made the numbers in such a way to prevent him from doing more damage in the laning phase, that's actually a good change.
|
lol wtf the little raptors give mad exp now 15->35 exp
hoping it aint so, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see mids taking raptors again. especially with the mid lane champ pool in this meta. lots of control mages/mids that can clear raptors easy. especially in the mid game from post 6 to 10 when 5 raptors = pretty much 1/3 of xp needed till next level. and if you're already ahead midlane taking the enemy raptors will snowball against both the enemy mid/jg x.x
maybe i'm overestimating it but 100 total extra XP you can take/deny as a mid seems pretty big to me.
|
|
Why not just swap the locations of wolf and raptor camps to make raptors slightly less accessible to midlaners?
|
Looks like a decent patch. Nice buffs on the worthless adcs. ZZrot will be interesting change. Overall not bad I think they have more work to do but the changes seem to make sense.
|
Saw no courage of the colossus nerfs so I bought Vi. How do I flash q on her?
|
I really like the BloodScent to BloodHunt change. The fact that it works even on full health people is enough for me. The triple speed on super low health folks might be too much but I have to play him to get the feel of it. I really like the visual update too.he looks so blood thirsty and now you can really identify that he is from Zuan.

They resisted moving around camps even at the end of S2 when that was the logical time (as EVERYONE was complaining about mid/ADC taking camps). They havent done it, so I must imagine its something someone very high up is wedded to.
|
@CS/OW + Show Spoiler +CS is a lot easier to understand to someone who's never played the game, because basically all you need to know is what a gun does and that more dead ppl = better. On top of that the game doesn't look as strategic as it actually is, since the focus of spectator mode is the firefights while the movement around the map isn't really pointed out. (but you can see it on the minimap if you're interested) The first time I watched CSGO I had some understanding of what was happening, but with OW I just get a big feeling of "wtf is going on". Also, to a casual audience it might help that CSGO isn't set in a fantasy world, but that's just speculation.
|
no kat nerf but kennen gets one ...
|
Ok I need help I'm like 0-10 trying to learn Ivern. I feel like his trolley annoying to kill nature fits my love for heros like Nunu and old Soraka but I just lose every game I play him.
I started by trying to 3 buff every game but it felt like it took way to long to get out on the map.
So then I tried level 2 cheesing top but w/o w I didn't have a way to hit confirm q and I usually just got a flash in trade for my lower jungle.
Then I felt like I was finding something by lane ganking bot like it was my only objective after first clear. It feels like he's super good at this but it hasn't translated to a win.
Late game I feel like I'm super annoying in fights and tying people up but they just sorta outlast me since the utility build does no damage.
Idk any tips appreciated

It's the only non-intuitive part of the game.

Finally a Syndra nerf but a pretty harsh Jungle nerf. Will take most junglers an extra 20-30s to hit level 4
|
Couple hours testing here's my thoughts; new Warwick is the quintessential jungler.
He just does everything you could want from a jungler. Clears quick and healthy. Has good ganks all game (dat level 3 mini-sec EQE going to make people rage). Is good all game long. Can be useful when behind with vision utility and multiple ccs. Can build damage and fuck kids up if comps allow.
And he's still late game ww when late game hits. Only thing is now he gets 55% DR for 4s every 7s. And he gets a jump. And a fear.
There is literally nothing else you could want in his kit. His E let's him clear Raptors taking basically no damage. I think machete > Tiamat > cinder hulk > titanic hydra > tank ir hyper carry the way to go. Not sure if CotC or Fervor better. CotC might be too good to pass up but his Q stacks on hits so fervor prolly good too.
WW is good.
|
There are CoC's nerfs on PBE, just saying coz it was mentioned here few times already
Courage of the Colossus Shield Value changed to [3-54 per nearby enemy champion] from flat [10-180] OLD: [10-180] + [ 5% per nearby enemy champion] NEW: [3-54 per nearby enemy champion] +[ 5% per nearby enemy champion] Shield duration lowered to 3 seconds from 4 seconds.
|
they nerfed every keystone to the point only warlords and tld have meaningful impact, seems like the entire idea was a mistake time to remove masteries, runes and balance game from scratch
|
not gonna happen imo, they did these to differentiate from Dota back then, now they add Dota like ban system, I doubt they would get any closer) also runes=ip=collateral rp
|
yea warwicks new kit looked insane on paper and then the numbers on PBE confirmed my suspicions. I got to masters playing the shitty old watered down version of warwicks kit, and they just literally took it and made it 20x better with no drawbacks.
Q less mana and gapcloser, blood scent way better, aoe fear and damage reduction (finally dont have to go full tank every game) and then he only loses power on the ultimate in some ways but his ult numbers are pretty damn high.
I'll be surprised if he doesnt get tuned down before release on pbe
|
not sure what are you talking about, this is a completely new champ, comparison with the old wolf looks kind of pointless to me.
|
The real question on everyone's mind at TL has to be how good is ww support?
+ Show Spoiler +
|
Not really. He is essentially old WW with a gap closer on Q and DR / fear in lieu of the W attack speed steroid.
I will say removing that is a big tower taking nerf. New W passive doesn't work on towers and isn't given to the ADC.

Not just towers, neutral objectives too. With an ADC, old Warwick was in the top tier of Baron sneak champs along with Heimerdinger and Nunu. It often felt like he was hunting the jungle more than he was hunting opponents.

New ww can solo baron with SV and Tabi's.
BTW.
Also can solo Drake on spawn.
You start bead + machete, quick Tiamat. He kind of feels like ww had a baby with reksai.
|
Great now you got me all hot and bothered. Can't wait to see the videos.
|
Anything that might add another jungler to the mix is great. Seeing the same old every. single. game. has gotten really pretty boring.
|

Don't get too excited. It's kinda slow. Realistically you need a second or farming more efficient.
He can do it though.
|
I was referring to your reksai and ww sex and possible tape. xD

Learning items now. Any recommendations for websites for mobile or ios apps that have an item tree? Im mostly using the fandom wiki since they have links between items but it seems to constantly break on mobile.
What tools are there to detect invis?
|
Towers have true sight, everything else cannot reveal insivible (not just stealthed) champions. Riot thought taking away counterplay against invisibility was a good idea. Technically you can damage invisible champions with aoe abilities which makes them shimmer but you still can't target those with point and click abilities. Stealthed champions reveal themselves when close to enemy champions or towers (but not wards).
Dunno if scryers bloom plant reveals invisible champions, would be cool if it did.
|
Champion.gg is ok for basic builds, it is basically group think from plats and higher on champs. Also probuilds is a decent place if you wanna see what pro's are using. Some times they mess around but again gives you a start.

The league wiki page on items is prob the best out of game tool to use if you want to get familiar with items.
Wiki page on Stealth. A lot of this is new since Riot revamped the stealth system over the preseason.
As for builds, I also recommend op.gg. It's about as group think as champion.gg since it goes off of stats and win rates but you also have the ability to look up OTPs. Not all champions are played by pros; not to mention, give credit where it's due, some of these guys have thousands of games with their one champion. Why not piggy back off their experience?
glhf, ask more questions as they come up in the thread. o/
|
I highly recommend leagueofgraphs for item builds. Their pages for each champion will show you the most popular "core"(first 3 non-boot items) for a champion, which boots they favor, and the most popular items to round out builds.
|
Thanks for the suggestions. I cant believe I completely missed the wiki app probably got too use to ignoring all the "try our app" banners on mobile sites.
I'll keep those other sites in mind when I want to look at builds.

Have any of you PBE guys tried Warwick with a Sivir/Talisman support comp? The idea of a long range pounce (do it get increased enough?) enabling easy picks feel pretty intriguing.

Wouldn't that require an obscene amount of bonus movement speed. Ghost+sivir+lulu+zilean+kled or something silly like that. If it's possible to reach a very long range with a sensible comp it seems like a legit strategy since anything with Sivir can catch up to him very quickly.
Actually just Kled+Warwick sounds pretty interesting. Oh baby the lane ganks.
|
I wonder if ghost might be worth it on WW.
I'll test it tonight. On a side note Warwick Q has am on hit Ezreal style; sheen items seem kind of terrifying on him.
Last night, saw a late game WW with titanic-hulk + boots + wits + IBG + steraks 1v3 my teams mid/ADC/top. Not quite sure if my team bad or WW just a monster with those items.
I imagine his E will get nerfed. Not the fear but the DR on it. Stupid high damage reduction. Especially with his healing.
|
Only got to play 2 games last night but Draven was banned in the first and went off in the 2nd. I mean the buffs did look good on paper, maybe he is good?
|
I find new WW to be a good champ. Pretty fun. My client broke halfway through a game though and he kept "awoowing". Reported that shit.
|
Any of the we testers check for flas interactions with ultimate?
1) flashing to avoid body blocks 2)flashing to secure target that has dodged to the side 3)flashing to extend range

Quick question, who here plans to watch league this year, if so what leagues and what volume(I.e. Only my favorite teams or everything)
For me it's
Nalcs, I have weekends off so if I'm around I'll have it on Lck, all ogn vods, spo vods for important games only
|
I'll watch both LCS leagues but will probably skip like 40-60% of regular games because of no name teams, shitty metas or having something more fun to do. I only watch LCK when I have other reasons to be awake that early in the morning.

Maybe some KT/SKT or other top 3 matches. There is so much LOL right now just as my interest in non-KR matches nosedives (but also my displeasure with all KR Englishcasters lowers that).
|
I'll prob have eu lcs on in the background while I work since it's usually day time.

Nalcs, I have weekends off so if I'm around I'll have it on Lck, all ogn vods, spo vods for important games only I'll go through the difficult first couple weeks of watching all of NA, EU, and Korea. I might watch some China. After that, I will only watch games between teams in playoffs positions and, regardless of standing, teams I root for. SPO days will be Korean immersion time. If I care about China, I'm only watching iG's games.
|
I might watch the worst team in NA if they manage to look like Relegades. They were bad but very entertaining.

I tend to watch NA for reasons probably more related to Stockholm's Syndrome than I'd like to admit.

We have fog, and teams play varying styles. The Tigers with Alistair vs. KT with Nami have very different dive priorities. The difference between a clown fiesta and a good, even game is people making big mistakes vs. people capitalizing on small mistakes.
|
And then there's Jin Air games.
|
Jin Air is a perfect example of a team that took the Asmo philosophy too far and thought they would win by not making errors (so they took no risks, which is an error!).

Did you mean asmr because their games are perfect for going to sleep to

To paraphrase a famous chess quote, Jin Air won games not by outplaying the other team, but by out-sitting them.

Unfortunately.
Practice mode is beast as hell though. Although I wish you could change you're summs in game/.

Well yeah, but it'd be awesome if he could.
|
I'll probably watch SKT/KT/Samsung games, not live.
If reading game spoilers indicates a big upset took place in the NA LCS or CLG/Liquid/TSM get dumpstered in a match I might skim through the VODs for fun too.

Going to watch LCK, Liquid, UOL and as mentioned above any big upsets.

Yeah. I think to hit the soft targets with it you either need to catch them face checking or chain it with your E fear.
It's easy to do but many times you need flashQ or Qflash to get the initiation.
|
Im testing out my hotkeys set up, can you still attack moce with shift + right click? And is there any downside to using attack move click vs attack move? My habit is attack move (from Dota) but it seems like it will save me a click.
Also just to be certain, theres no way to auto atk animation buffering in League right? For example, in Dota with auto attack on, when you press "s" you stop the current attack but it automatically starts the next auto so when you dont press "s" your animation has already part way done. Right now when I "s" it turns off auto attack. Is there a binding I am looking over? Seems like there are so many binding customization options in League
|
If you press s you will cancel all commands and replace with stop.
Using moves will make your character continue to auto.
Really it's just more micro intensive to auto buffer defensively like that in lol.
|

Really it's just more micro intensive to auto buffer defensively like that in lol. AFAIK only some of the Chinese pros(former dota players) do this to last hit. Because of the almost instant turn rate in league, it's not necessary to do this to set up a proper last hit timing.
It is useful though if you know you AA'd too early and need to cancel out though.
|
Played against an ArP Caitlyn last night, had 24 lethality from runes was q>ulting my mid and adc for kills from full HP.
Is that a thing now or was she just insanely ahead?
|
It is a thing now, at least a fotm memebuild. Played against one yesterday and her damage seemed insane but that could be because I got used to seeing her ult do almost nothing.
|
is the 10 bans only for LCS or is it for soloqueue as well?
|
Eventually solo but in a yet to be determined streamlined fashion
|
Wouldn't be surprised if implementing 10 ban system took them longer than implementing solo Q. Yasuo mains should feel safe for now.
|
Drafting early feels so bad right now, so much bullshit out there and later picks get counter + a ban to protect their pocket picks
|
thats why I started doing role tricking. I keep early picking jungle nasus now and everyone picks some ranged top, just for me to not even be there h4h4.
It's viable again with the experience shifting towards raptors.

ideas about how to play vs malz support?
it feels very cheesy, but there's not too many openings to abuse, and the lvl 6 flash all-in seems way too strong.
pre-6 feels like you're just clearing voidlings... you might be able to go aggro a bit and win some trades, but never extended trades because voidlings will eat you up.
the only success i've found is with lulu/nami, but even then Its just being really defensive and peeling/saving only. any other support that tries to harass or something will just get the lvl 6 combo directed at them, then they 2v1 your adc.
|
zyra/mf is decent vs him. just gotta be very wary of the ult/ganks but that's pretty typical when playing as those 2 supports.
he's an S tier support right now for a reason though. pretty strong atm

So today I found out that LCS finals are coming to my city.
Vancouver fuck yeah. First major esports event ever to be held here I think?
And that's despite us having 2 of the strongest collegiate teams and a very vibrant LoL community.

Am I the only one who thinks analysts are overrating Flyquest, this team is 9th at best imo. I mean maybe I'm nitpicking, nobody is showing them in the playoffs or anything. But I feel like not labeling them potential 10th is too high.

I think the more realistic outcome is that they aren't 10th and not playoffs. They definitely don't look like playoffs material from the information we have, but I'd find it somewhat surprising to see them 10th. There's going to be at least 1 team that implodes and the synergy/haicalls should have them edge out dysfunctional teams. I'd be surprised if there wasn't one this season. I'm expecting them 8th or 9th.

I wouldn't be surprised if UBC is so strong because it's power by Asians. UofC is getting more and more maybe with a Korean exchange they could take down UBC. Do California schools (where I believe there are more Asians in the states) do well? Or am I competly off base with the whole Asians better at video game thing

Another round of questions: 1) The is not spell cast cancelling correct? Once the animation for the spell starts, its gone?
2) Using Lux's ult as an example, do opponents see the indicator of where she is aiming when casting? Does it matter if Lux is out of vision or in vision? Related to Q1, you cant restart the energy gathering and aim somewhere else right?
3) For "when in Jungle" effects, what counts as jungle? Any are thats not lane? Does river count? Or do you need to be engaged with Monsters?
Learned something yestersday while playing some bots for exp. Fountain in LoL is a lot stronger than Dota.

Some spells have a channeling time and can be cancelled, they'll usually go on cooldown though. Some spells' channeling is actually a wind-up time (Vi's or Varus' q, I'm not sure how Sion's qualifies), and can be interrupted by the player (usually for a (partial) mana refund) or by cc, in which case it usually goes on a shorter cooldown (rooting Vi during her wind-up will put it on a 3s cd).
Most spells simply have an animation and it won't stop unless the character dies (and even then, for some), you can't cancel the upswing either (not sure about the backswing, that's another topic entirely). In Lux's case, only death will stop it once you confirm the cast, and yes everyone can see the red "pointer" before the ult goes off, even in the fog of war I believe, to avoid getting sniped from 3k range without the ability to react (most stuff has cues, either the projectile like for Nidalee's spears, travel time for Ezreal's/Ashe's ults, range indicator for Jhin/Xerath).

Vancouver fuck yeah. First major esports event ever to be held here I think?
And that's despite us having 2 of the strongest collegiate teams and a very vibrant LoL community. UBC OP, plz nerf I wouldn't be surprised if UBC is so strong because it's power by Asians. UofC is getting more and more maybe with a Korean exchange they could take down UBC. Do California schools (where I believe there are more Asians in the states) do well? Or am I competly off base with the whole Asians better at video game thing I'd look this up for you but uLoL has such garbo coverage that it's not possible. I understand what you're trying to get at and no it's not that surprising that Asians are good at the vidya gamez.
On January 19 2017 10:53 Reson wrote: Another round of questions: 1) The is not spell cast cancelling correct? Once the animation for the spell starts, its gone?
2) Using Lux's ult as an example, do opponents see the indicator of where she is aiming when casting? Does it matter if Lux is out of vision or in vision? Related to Q1, you cant restart the energy gathering and aim somewhere else right?
3) For "when in Jungle" effects, what counts as jungle? Any are thats not lane? Does river count? Or do you need to be engaged with Monsters?
Learned something yestersday while playing some bots for exp. Fountain in LoL is a lot stronger than Dota.
l0l, you ask some pretty weird questions. As in, for a person whose doto experience is a distant memory, you're thinking of things that doesn't even cross the mind of a lot of League players.
1. For all intents and purposes, there is no spell cast cancelling. If you're chasing after an enemy champ and they're outside of cast range, spell is still in queue until they get into range. There's some stuff that Adrian Riven does that is Flash Cancelling but 99% of player population doesn't know about it, much less be able to execute it.
2. For Final Spark, Lux is root while channeling her ulti for that 1s. There is about a half second where you can see where the laser will land, meaning if your the opposing player, you could technically Flash out of the way of Final Spark. Most channeled spells do root the champ that's casting in place. There are minor exceptions, like Camille's Tactical Sweep, where she can move around to aim the cone.
3. "Jungle" is all minions not spawned for lane. Pulling a melee minion into the jungle doesn't sudden make them a jungle monster. Scuttles in the river also count as monsters, not minions. Most item effects that have jungle effects do require to interactive with said monsters. I don't recall any item giving you any sort of benefit just by passively standing in the jungle/outside of lane.
|
Some follow up 1) I should reword this question since cancelling seem to be the wrong word. What I want to know is if you can use "s" or some other means to stop a spell after you have input the command. Using Ashe's Volley as an example, can you stop it after you press w? Or is it instantaneous and therefore impossible even for the best in the world? Essentially is there an upswing cast animation that can be stopped by the controlling player to reposition the skill?
3) I was asking cause the "Stalker's blade" description says 180% mana regen while in Jungle. I assumed that mean I get that while walking around. Is that the case?
|
You cannot stop most abilities during the animation. There are a few exceptions like Karthus Ult, which is a true channel. Cancelling these abilities places them on CD, which might be reduced depending on the ability.

1. No, in 99% of cases, you can't cancel such skill shots like Ashe W, Ezreal Q, Graves Q, etc. There are some non-targeted abilities like Camille W and Darius Q that has a wind up time/channeling portion to the spell right before actual effect that allows you to reposition the skill but again, you can't cancel the spell once you hit the button.
3. ider Stalker's having a mana regen because it's such a superfluous stat tbh. While I haven't tested it out myself and looked directly at the mana bar, the phrasing does make it sound like you get additional mana regen passively, while standing in the jungle (outside of lane and base). So I stand corrected in the previous post.
|
I think it's only the on-autoattack skills that can be canceled with s.
Just tried varus Q and s doesn't cancel it, so I'd imagine that's the case with other charge skills as well.
|
Jungle item mana regen really isn't a superfluous stat. Granted, I usually play mana-heavy junglers, but on the second clear (or any other time you don't have blue) the difference in mana is pretty big.

It's allows you to use something like 100-150 mana per camp without running oom.

Watched a couple games and my biggest surprise was seeing quite a bit of singed picks and bans. Some bonus for the 10 bans already!
Been rockin the singed in solo Q so much fun.

I know there used to be a trick with Lux ultimate that you could kinda mess around with. You could flash to change direction of lux ulti that fraction of a second where it was between channeling and the spell effect occurring, but I believe it's no longer possible to do this. See the video in the spoiler:
+ Show Spoiler +I believe the basic premise was that you'd channel your ult, and then flash to change the direction the character was facing so that you could redirect, and so cause people to dodge incorrectly/not at all. Pretty interesting, but comments seem to say you can no longer do this.
|
You can do a somewhat similar trick on other champs. Leona can now change the direction of her E with flash.

i mean even in soloq poppy has dropped in winrate significantly. I still think she's good but she lost her edge over the other tanks.

Also Scarra is a nerf request machine, he knows a lot about the game but I wouldn't want him to be in charge of balance. Not even because he's wrong but he def has a philosophy of nerfing good not only nerfing op.

Poppy is the Lee sin of the top lane. if you are worse than poppy you are going to lose to poppy, if you are better than poppy you are playable.

is it just me or is playing with unranked people inconsistent?
for some people I can play with them in soloq and stuff if they're unranked and I'm plat I assume it's because they were gold-diamond last season
however for some others who were gold-diamond last season, I can't
what gives?

no I don't mean match making
I mean actually trying to play with them in a duoqueue or as a premade in flex
I've been able to soloq with some friends who were unranked but last season plat but unable to duoqueue with others who had that same rank last season.

Just found out that you can have 2 duos in solo/duo Q. Since, season 5 and below, it was maximum one duo per team, I assumed that it will be the same now, but its not. Just saying if anyone assumed the same as I.
|
DuoQ is still cancer. SoloQ should be just that... SOLO.
They made Flex for a reason. Why half-ass the entire thing?
|
Yeah that's a bit suprising. Particularly since they are trying to help queue times in flex queue. Forcing duos there would bring more players and help times.

anyone having issues with spectating? It doesn't work for me personally, but I am not sure is it just in my system or its an overall problem, since, I can't find Riot saying anything about it

What features of scion cause him to consistently have some of the best support win rates on solo queue but get no play at the pro level?
What gives him such good solo numbers?
Why doesn't that translate?

If we're looking at champion.gg, Support Sion is ranked 2 in terms of win rate, which makes you think, " wow, that's pretty impressive for a melee support" but if you scroll down more you realize that he has double digit pick rate. Compare that to standard solo queue Supports, like Thresh, Janna, Blitz, which have thousands of games play, it means that the small niche of Sion Support players are successful at an above average rate but still heavily skewing the results due to sample size. You have to also realize that the top 5 most played solo q Supports (Thresh, Janna, Blitz, Leona, Morg), four of them have rarely even graced pro play.
As for why Support Sion "works", I think it's more of a gimmick because players are not used to him. He can do a lot of damage essentially for free against unsuspecting players, whether that be a fully charged Q or E poke. He's a tanky beast that is very capable at engaging team fights mid and late game. I think it's easier to harass with Sion than it is to harass a Sion early on in bot lane because he can secure brush control. This obviously doesn't translate well into pro play because no competent bot lane pair are going to stand around to get smashed by a Q randomly.
|
his passive is also super strong in 2v2s. If you adc knows you can basically go ham and if u die before your adc u win the 2v2. If you happen to live great all the better.
|
Sion has had a top-3 winrate for about 10 patches now, so I'm not quite sure whether the sample size issue is that big. Botlaners usually don't know how much damage he does at early levels so he can get easy leads.
|
United States37500 Posts
10 patch duration just means Sion has the potential to work imo. It's still a small selection of players using him successfully. The general population is unaware, much less capable, of how to play against Sion Support so he has a decent win rate.
I'm of the opinion that if Support Sion was more popular (picked more in general), less capable players trying him out and failing, Sion's win rate would drop down to around where Support Naut and Braum are (high teens in ranking). But since Sion is so obscure atm, only players who actually know wtf they're doing will play him and they still maintain their surprise factor. Being a niche pick means general pop won't randomly pick this champion to go out on a test drive in ranked.
|
Yeah its what Neo said, its because people dont know how to play against Sion support. In my soloQ games, I notice that 2v2 botlane fights are usually end up with both sides very low HP when both pairs play it fairly well. I see quite a few Sion supports gets double kills consistently because of the surprise factor of his passive due to the unawareness of bot lane players.
|
|
Jhin has a 28% PB rate in NA, Kench 8%.
|
I think Jihn will be picked consistently unless he is hammered, or real late game ADC damage is brought back as a necessity. He just lets teams be so bad botlane without getting punished. If your ADC is below average, or you want mid and/or top to carry, he's your man.
|
lmao maokai 90% winrate with a decent sample size. *sigh
Damn, the other roles aren't much better...

Worth noting the pick ban numbers are not directly comparable to prior years due to the extra bans.

Sion is less gimmicky that Naut imo.
Sion hard shits on any melee support except maybe Ali. You're basically a hybrid support. You poke like a karma. Winning on sion has nothing to do with hitting Q'start. It's about landing E and shoving waves.
You have strong wave control and shove, you always have minion advantages in fights.
No one can 2v2 against an aggro sion except maybe a Janna lanE because of how easy it is for him to walk at you with W on and start an all in. If you kill him you lose the 2v2 guaranteed. His passive can 1v2 most not lanes if he dies on someone; you can't hit him but he hits hard with E, peels well, and runes offensively to the point that he can roll your carry if you're not on him.
He's not completely broken, but he is certainly strong. He's a melee support with the laning of a ranged support basically. He has that much trading power. Compared to most melees he can't force kills though. But that's not what he does; fact is thathat he wins all all ins but he can't make em happen.
He's best with MF, draven, Jhin IMO, because they capitalize on his armor shred the best. Sion E + MF Q is close to 450 damage level 1. It's pretty scary.
I really don't consider him a melee support. Honestly you E on CD basically like Karma poke. You win lane with harass then you're late game Sion with R>Q engage. Guys like Nautilus Braum aren't damage threats in lane. Sion definitely is. He can zone a carry on his own.
His winrate would drop for sure, but I think he'd still be a high tier support. I think people would fight him less so he would snowball out of control less, but he'd still win lanes. A lot of his surprise factor is like "fuck he just 1v2'd us from passive now his adc fed and has huuuge XP lead". Very possible to beat something like Karma if you're adc can land any harass after you land the armor shred. It's skill matchup. Sion can outplay almost any support and that's without considering his Q.
Obv he gets silly when he has brush control and gets to all in. But he's viable without imo.

I feel like the jungle changes are just going to limit jungle diversity, having the camps do more damage will just punish champs with worse clears even further
|
yea they are going about it the wrong way. Its not the jungle thats too strong, there is a lot of balanced or underpowred junglers right now. They needed to do nerfs to the jungle offenders, but this is riot we are talking about.
At least it gives me more breathing room top, tired of being lvl 2 and getting ganked by a lvl 3 jungler.

This is after the specifically mentioned they don't want to make Nidalee queen of the jungle but are making it much easier for the top tier junglers to stay top tier, and farther above their competition. I don't see these Nidalee changes doing jack shit with the jungle buff too

No see you don't understand.
If junglers can't clear the jungle they are totes viable. Doesn't matter if they can't farm and are always at 1 shot range from Lee sin.

Honestly after the nerds last patch I thought the jungle itself was in an ok spot to look at the outlier champs next.
TBH this patch is pretty ??? To me
