Worst stats out of all mid laners by a good margin. And that while occupying an import slot. It made me think he was trolling or not caring at all. He really has no room to talk. Honestly after the last season I would be surprised if GBM gets to play professionally ever again. Yeah I think it's possible that he's just making excuses. It sounds believable but I'd like to hear what other players have to say about this first.
Going by your knowledge process, Yeah I think it's "possible" that he is telling the truth.

Pretty pointed opinion considering it's just a matter of which translation you choose to believe and not based on your understanding oh what was actually said.
Wax isn't exactly a random new poster here.

Most translations I read are not biased and do not have the translators opinion in the translation itself. If they want to give their opinion they usually do it in a subsection or a different article.
Feels highly unprofessional. Salty much that he is talking about NA? I dont mind, even if I am a c9 fan. I believe mostly (NA pro's do play other games whereas korean's never play any game other than league even mobile games are not allowed during playoffs, etc) The way NRG played was GBM had to do everything, initiate, shot call, time spells, tell where the jgler is, etc
I trust the translation carries the spirit of the conversation quite well. It is a talk show and the atmosphere is designed to be casual and fun.
I have no knowledge of Korean myself, but from my casual understanding of the Korean casters and pro scene, as well as what happens in Chinese casting, generally players will be very humble and polite in "official" matters, but the casters and hosts love to trash talk and encourage players to do the same in less formal settings.

I watched parts of the video. The translation isn't trying to make GBM look worse. Like Zess said, t's pretty common for Koreans to be very candid and at times egotistical in these types of shows. Especially for guys like GBM, Piglet, Mata, etc.

rookie actually gets a lot of praise from pros. dopa says he learnt a lot about laning from rookie and thinks rookies the best laner after himself

Rookie is the best player in the LPL. He is like late 2014 Faker when it comes to backbreaking teammates. I would love if he went back to KT, but otherwise Snake, EDG, and IMay are all much better rosters with KR midlaners that he would be a straight upgrade for.

The way the translator puts in unnecessary swear words and writes GBM as an egotistic human that is on a tv show to say negative aspects of the NA scene. In korean the show and the way GBM expresses his opinion about NA is very casual and he is also trying to be funny while explaining his hardships. It is also very true that the majority of the people in korea believe that NA pros do play other games even during scrims and that NA solo que is very different from korean solo que. I cant seem to find a reason why this translator titled the article GBM talks to much. This can have different meanings but after reading the translation it seems like the author wants GBM to stfu. He was on a internet show that generally makes fun of things and laughs at unacceptable behavior in Korea that is allowed in other regions especially NA.

Unless you read reddit inven translations which are totally opinion based and can also be biased depending on the word choice, if you read an official translation for any subject including political dialogue, the translations should not have or try not to have any of the translators thoughts or views. Idk what wax was trying to achieve but his translation clearly shows that he does not like GBM and he wants him to stop talking. It seems like wax has made many posts and it feels like he is just a user who likes writing articles rather than a professional. Maybe I was expecting too much but as a Korean reading the translation it seems rather opinion based.

Unless you actually give an example of what was misrepresented or taken out of context (including what it should have been translated as), for someone who does not know the original language your accusations hold no value.
When I compare these translations to the comments made by ex samsung players on playing in china (true lol show, translated by ogn themselves), these translations do not seem to be much harsher than those, when looking at the tone.

My biggest problem was the extra comments he added in a translation
Title Couldve been something less aggressive such as GBM Korean LoL talk show translation if he was really going to do a translation and not write personal comments(I find this to be a bit picky depending on if he is a professional or just a user who posts his opinions)
Shameless IMT gossip Why is this shameless? It was just a joke
People he said nice(?) things about You don’t need the question mark, they were complements
This sounded smart but I don’t know if it means anything yes it is meaningful. TSM was a mid/ad who controlled jg and support meaning they had to do a lot of shot calling
translating error that could improve.
There’s a guy called Goldenglue who hit #1, who played on TL, he’s really bad. If you get #1 on Korea, you have this aura around you, no matter who it is.”
This just sounds like an egotistic ass. The way GBM talked was a joking funny way.
When the host asked why is there not scouting from high ladder in NA like KR GBM answered, There is this guy who was number 1 multiple times and his name is Goldenglue, played for TL. He is really not good LOL. When I see a rank 1 in korea they have this aura and are super good like beyond belief, all of them for example peanut.
The most important thing that the writer forgot to mention was that half the people here Dangun (far right) especially takes what GBM says with a grain of salt. He did mention we have to understand what the other people side has to say in order to know when GBM was talking about NA.
Ultimately this post caused GBM and Goldenglue to have a misunderstanding that could have been prevented. When you tell your friend A that friend B is fking sht at league in a joking manner but friend A tells friend B via text that you told him that B was fking sht at league, necessary misunderstandings can happen.

Lmao Rush is looking at this on his stream right now

In the same way that a talk show in Korea is spoken in a tone that will be fun for Korean audiences, a translation on a western forum is done in a tone that will be fun for western audiences. If people are getting angry it is because they are looking at something fun and taking it too seriously without understanding tone.

I don't get the difference with the golden glue thing. If you cite him as proof getting #1 is irrelevant you are saying he's shit reguardless of what words you put around it to sugar coat it
What if I said:
No offense, I think you're alright glue, but the fact you hit #1 proves getting #1 on an is worthless
Pretty sure he hears:
I think you are bad
P.s. I'm not trying to act offended that he said that btw, I don't hate on players for being candid. I'm just saying you can't fix that statement to not be an insult.
