inven eSports’ interview with SKT’s Faker
How do you feel about winning today’s match?
After losing in the last match, I thought to myself that I could not afford to lose this one no matter what. I feel relieved that we won.
KT Rolster’s engagements were very fierce.
I normally don’t die that often, but I think I ended up dying so many times because I wasn’t able to focus properly. I think this happened last match too. I made mistakes. Whenever I die, I tell myself it was because it was my fault.
Why do you think that you lost again CJ Entus?
My performance was terrible. I wasn’t able to focus for both games one and two. I think I’ll be able to do well if we face them next time though.
You chose Syndra today. How come?
I’m not the kind of guy to dwell on the past and pick a champion with an escape mechanism just because I died a lot last time. I picked the best champion that I could use at that moment. I was confident in my Syndra, and I also saw that KT had a lot of champions that could die pretty easily if they got stunned.
SKT is now 2-1. What kind of results do you want for this first round?
If I can just focus then I think we can place in either first or second. I’m not really sure about how other teams will do though. There isn’t any team I would like to particularly face as of right now, however my mind is filled with nothing but the thought of wanting to face CJ Entus again.
You were sent out in the second game today. Was there a reason for that?
It was the coach’s decision. I just follow what he wants without saying much. I don’t really care if I get sent out in the first game or the second game.
Your interview with Cho Eun Jung was impressive.
I wasn’t satisfied with it.
The MSI tournament has been announced. What do you think about?
If I get a chance to participate in it, then I would like to face a Chinese team. Even though China teams have Korean players in them, I want to show that Korea still has the best teams. I’ve noticed recently that NA and EU teams have a different style than KR does, so I want to watch them and learn.
Anything else you would like to say?
I practiced a lot for today’s match since I lost in the last one. I will make sure I ride this momentum and establish a good result.

You won after a cutthroat battle. How do you feel?
CoCo: SKT T1 and Najin e-mFire are both teams that are candidates for the championship so it feels so good to win. Our start was good and I hope to ride this momentum.
Space: We would always lose the second match after winning the first one. It feels good that we won today.
To Space: You put on a spectacular performance in game one with Sivir. How do you feel?
Space: I feel like I’m becoming more and more different. I think I’ve found my confidence. I did so badly during the pre-season. I did well during scrims but I wasn’t able to perform for tournament matches. But I was able to gain confidence after beating SKT.
To CoCo: For you as well, your performance was different than it was for pre-season.
CoCo: I felt a lot of pressure and my style is that I don’t do well during competitions. But recently, I’ve found confidence.
What kind of opportunity took place?
CoCo: When the supervisor was sick, Kezman hyung took care of us and the atmosphere was good. We all supported each other. My results were so bad during the pre-season so I went with the mindset that I had nothing left to lose.
Who calls the shots?
CoCo: All five of us call the shots or we just go with the player that’s doing the best.
To Space: Why did you pick Kalista?
Space: I do well with him during solo queues, but then after messing up just once during competitive play, I spiraled out of control and got destroyed.
How are you guys feeling for this season? Currently, CJ Entus is ranked second.
CoCo: We don’t feel that good about it but the matches are going well. It’s a little odd.
During game three, when did you know that you had it won?
Space: When we had the dragon five stack and the baron buff all at once, we knew that we had it won.
How do you plan to prepare for your next match against KT Rolster?
Space: I will make sure that we ride this momentum and win.
CoCo: I will make sure I play like I do for practices. KT Rolster tend to do peculiar pick/bans so as long as we don’t fall behind on that part then I think we can win.
Anything else you would like to say?
Space: Our match against Najin e-mFire was also difficult but I feel really good that we won. I will make sure I show only a good form this season for the CJ organization and the fans. I want to thank supervisor Onair.
CoCo: It feels really good that we secured two straight victories. Whenever we win, it feels like I didn’t contribute much, but I think I was able to do something today so I feel good. I want to thank the supervisor, the coach, the CJ organization, and the fans.

inven eSports’ interview with IM's S0NSTAR
How do you feel about securing your first victory?
We weren’t able to show a good form for pre-season or spring so I feel really good that we won today. Our current results are not good but I think a stepping stone that will produce good results from now on has been provided for us.
IM is known to do well in practices but the actual performances are not good. How come?
We have players who get nervous on stage for televised matches, and I also think that we can’t ride that momentum that we create from our practices. But I want us to utilize this opportunity that we’ve grabbed and practice hard so that we can show our everyday skills for tournaments as well.
You put on a good performance in game one with your Sivir. What did you think about it?
Our team has a tendency to fall behind a little. Our start was not that good but I think we were able to pull it off afterwards. I can also use Sivir really well since she’s such a good champion right now.
The start for game two was not good. What do you think was the reason that you guys were able to win in the end?
Our start was not good but we felt that Samsung was in a similar situation as us, so we kept supporting one another by reassuring each other that “we really shouldn’t lose to Samsung ,” so that our mentality wouldn’t get affected.
Your next opponent will be SKT. How do you think it will go?
If we can bring out our skills that we have for practice then I don’t think it will be that easy to defeat us. If we can ride this momentum then we could probably take game one, and if luck is with us, then maybe we could also take the victory.
After the match ended, IM fans shed tears. How did that make you feel as a player?
I am always grateful to the fans that cheer us on regardless of whether we win or lose. I will make sure we put on an even better form and repay them for their support.
Anything else you would like to say?
I am always grateful to the fans and to my family for always cheering me on. The supervisor wasn’t able to come because he wasn’t feeling well, but I want to thank the supervisor and the coaches. I am grateful that they are always so patient with our grumblings. We will work hard so that we can show an even better form and establish good results.
