In pro League motivation and mindset is extremely important, not just your ability to make a great play once in a while. Which is also why for example signing Tabbz never was an issue.

Idk, I find it hard to believe that Ryu can return to his former self after Faker destroyed him in that mirror Zed VS Zed matchup in summer 2013. Especially when you consider how stacked Europe is in terms of their mid laners' talent pool (PowerOfEvil, NukeDuck, Froggen, etc) and also his recent performance in Europe during the promotional tournament. Also his difficulty to communicate with the rest of his team due to language barriers. I can't help but feel that Ryu has been doing downhill after KT Rolster Bullets lost to SKT T1 in the summer 2013 final as well as the regional gauntlet later on. But here's to hoping that he can indeed make a comeback and show his former prowess as we remember him from back in the KT Rolster Bullets prime days.

Do you really count PowerOfEvil to the best midlaners in Europe already?

You're right, it might be too soon to consider him among the ranks of best mid laners in europe. His performance against Bjergsen at IEM was pretty convincing though. Will reserve that opinion as the european lcs progresses.
