11/21/2012 - Enjoy the holiday weekend guys! I'll be on a ton soloQing to brush up on my mechanics, but we'll look to continue our ranked 5s next week. Also our first tourney for Alienware arena is next Thursday. The time will be posted next Monday.
+ Show Spoiler +11/17/2012 - Ranked team got our games in! 8-6 so far. The games are super swingy, when we win we're super ahead and when we lose we get crushed. I think if we keep our head straight, we will definitely see improvement in the coming days. 11/15/2012 - If you still want on the team, take the following steps: 1. Fill out the excel 2. Show up at 7 PM PST at the latest and shoot me a message 3. I will keep track of who shows up consistently 4. Our #1 goal is to have people be here for practice 5. Our ultimate goal is top 32 NA, make sure you keep this in mind because we need a LOT of practice. 6. We currently need a mid, possibly a top/jungle
11/13/2012 - Day 6: Started scrimming the past few days, we are coming together pretty well. Once the roster solidifies we will aim to get more ranked 5s logged. Special thanks to bezel and selffor for the in-house games in the meantime. 11/10/2012 - Day 3: Overall 3-4 tonight, had to make a new ranked team to get some fresh blood. I just want to say I need to start recording our games, because the Ashe Arrow to the tower from fountain to kill was the most epic thing ever!! (gj to Blade and of course my prophetic calls :D) 11/09/2012 - Day 2: we rolled some normals and got CRUSHED 0-3 in ranked. But we learn more when we lose, and it was obvious there's a ton of things to work on - e.g. in solo Q, we'd never even worry about controlling red/blue...so we definitely have a long road ahead of us 11/08/2012 - Day 1 of ranked, started at 7 pm sharp and was lucky enough to go 5-0; 1 game lasted 8 minutes due to some sick d/cs. Hoping for the same turnout tomorrow. 11/07/2012 - I'll try to keep this thread updated with our progress. First night we had 8 people show up and went 2-1 in normals. It was nice meeting everyone, and tomorrow we will start ranked. I like to have short term goals to work towards, so if we do well in ranked, we will join Go4LoL this sunday. I'm hoping we can move quickly towards organized tourneys to keep everyone motivated to practice.

Hi everyone, I'm looking to start a 5s team for Season 3 to work on mechanics and team fighting. If you're passionate about League and would like to improve your game play with a good attitude and hard work, post your summoner name/roles here and we can get going.
<- Practice Times ->
Weekdays: 7-10 PM PST
Weekends: All day
A couple things of note:
1. I’m 1500 NA, so looking for similar elo around here 2. Keep it friendly in game. I think everyone agrees by now that raging does not help us improve 3. Stick to a few champs. I play 80% of my ranked games across 4 champs. I really think everyone should stick to 2-4 champs for a few hundred games before switching 4. I’m 100% sure that if we get a group of 5 and play 500 games together, we will hit 1900. If you look at the top ranked (non-pro) teams, they barely play any games together; we’ll definitely have better team synergy
My lolking: www.lolking.net/search?name=twoplustwo
In solo Q, I play: AP/ADC/Support Lux/Ezreal/Sona
Feel free to add me, “twoplustwo” on pvpnet. I’ll be in liquidpractice if you want to chat.

Love this idea! I won't be on every day for the times you listed but I'll be around for games.
Name: Sandster // NA ELO: 1590 Roles: Jungle > Support > AD > AP > Top
My ranked solo queue champs aren't indicative of what I play now, since most of that was from 6+ months ago, but the recent 20 games or so I've used Irelia, Ahri, Amumu, Skarner, Mundo, Ezreal, Sona. I don't tend to focus on one champion since I've never had a team, but I will focus on 1-2 roles and 3-4 champs per role if I were to find one.

lol 500 games. you will soon find out why even getting 100 will be impossible
|
Recruit tapiocaball pls he is an invaluable player in your range
|
I really don't agree to sticking to a few champs. I think that switching around a bit and learning how to play different matchups is a good way to keep the game fun and to improve. I agree though that team synergy makes this game a lot. Managed to beat a team full of 2k's with a 1200's team. I would try and do this but I definitely do not have anywhere near as much time as what you're asking for lol.
Just a bunch of really jumbled thoughts I have right now about this. I wish the best of luck to whoever does this :D.

i recommend tapiocaball + blackpaladin as your botlane. great synergy.

Dunno why you'd make a new TL C team when TL B needs a new roster for S3.
|
Jesus this is hardcore. Sounds like fun but no way can I commit to that amount of time and I'm almost certain that most others on TL won't be able to either. Remember that even TL A who were arguably the closest thing to a pro team TL ever had, stopped playing due to RL commitments/disinterest and they may have had a chance to get sponsored if they continued as they did.

|
I'd def do this, 1550 jungle. If the practice times werent so late in the afternoon. Considering i work 2nd shift. real sad
|
Either way this is a way to find players of a similar elo to play with if nothing else, even if it's just dicking around in normal 5's. Are you guys using liquidpractice?
|
I am unranked with some ranked games, but another friend played those ones.
I have about 1050 wins and 850 losses if that means anything. I main jungle and support.

I think there's 2 schools of thought on improving in MOBA (wrt to focusing on a few champs or playing a variety). Maybe I'm just bad personally, but every champ seems to have such a different "feel" to me. It takes me quite a while (at least 50 games) to even feel a little bit comfortable with a new champ. So I always think I should stick to a few champs. I definitely see where you're coming from though.

That practice schedule looks ridiculous to me from a non-pro standpoint but if you do get 5 people to do that for a month without gnawing their legs off then dang, you got dedication.

If it's 6-9 PM PST it might work out better for me.

oh kids these days
No one is going to be able to stick to that practice schedule.
Also, I recommend you play with Tapiocaball and BlackPaladin; they are the best bot lane TL has ever seen.

They just play solo queue, draft normals, and occasionally some tryhard Go4LoLs or some shit, and all of them will either get to 2k or get sick of this game and go play DotA 2.
Exactly like it happened last 2 seasons.
Need Tapi and BP though to induct the new TL B class, though. Can't go forth without their blessing.

Well I think the reason previous seasons had commitment issues is due to the lack of incentives. This time, we can always dream of making top 32 by the end of December right?

It really has nothing to do with incentives, and everything to do with leadership. Someone has to fill the thankless role of team administrator/manager, and it's a lot of work for what amounts to a hobby within a hobby. Incentives can ease the burden slightly, but in no way make the position unnecessary.
In all likelihood the job will automatically fall to you. When and if you get this up and running it may seem easy at first, but in short order the momentum will run out. Whether or not the team holds together past this point will depend almost entirely on how persistent you are. If you are ambivalent and disinterested in the job the team will quickly reach a point where you basically never play together anymore.
I'm not saying you can't do it, I'm just warning you that you're taking on a significant responsibility and whether or not this works is almost entirely a function of how much effort you specifically put into it.
|
I would recommend getting 10 players minimum for this or else you will be stuck with an incomplete team.

I have a little bit of experience from doings WoW Arena, my 5s team actually hit 2k rating way back in season 2, but the problem was we were just 5 real life buddies and people had other things to do.
I also organized some raids, but again the problem was that I just couldn't get enough people to show up on time.
On November 08 2012 06:52 willoc wrote: I would recommend getting 10 players minimum for this or else you will be stuck with an incomplete team.
This will be my exact solution to the problem. The awesome thing about TL is that a community pool of players already exist, so I'm hoping we'll always have enough people show up. Down the line I probably have to worry about actual leadership, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
|
Hmm....I'm sorta tempted to join up myself even though Mr. Derp was pretty successful this season and we do have such fun playing together....mebbe I'll try to balance them or something. Alright why not. If you want/need me I'm up for it, lemme know.
WaveofShadow - Season high - 1498 (I tend to hover between 1400-1500) Best roles probably AP>AD/Supp>Jungle>>>Top
My most played (and best) are probably accurate in terms of my PvP.net stats: Eve/Viktor for mid, though I can play others, just a bit rusty since I've been mostly playing to gain elo. Support I can play everything 'cept probably Lulu and as for AD everything but Varus/Kog. Junglers aren't great but I can do most of them if necessary or we're practicing.
My top lane is horribly subpar and I haven't played in seriously in months.

milo is one of the best players on TL in terms of understanding and application, i would take his help if he's available
would probably lower the practice schedule as well, weekdays as available or desired by members and weekends should be 1 full day tops (if you're going to do an 'all day' kind of thing instead of 'as available' schedule on the weekends), it would be difficult for anyone but high-schoolers or freshmen in college with low workload would be able to accommodate that kind of schedule while keeping up with other commitments.
i'd find the people first, then make the schedule

We'll definitely take all the brains we can get.
When it comes to scheduling, I always think we should target as many hours as possible and so long as we get 5 to practice, we'll be maximizing our efforts.
Remember we're NA players, practicing too many hours or having too stringent a schedule is nonexistent

Summoner name same as here 1730~ elo ap mid main. Cant play anything else at that level.
However that schedule is terrible for me. I live east coast and work at six in the morning. I also cant dedicate my entire weekend as I live with my girlfriend and I dont think she would be very happy about that. If the schedule has to be as stated I have no problem heading up a TL Beast Coast team for people that go to bed before 12est haha

I main adc and support. I play Ez/cait/Ashe and I'd love to join with a team. Solo q is way too unpredictable for me. I also play Raka/Janna/other supports if needed. Add me please!

Yep I'll be on tonight. I'm on the Tender Loving Care team now.

GGs! Some notes (I'm the jungler):
-Bot Lane: We need to be able to play at least 1 additional support. We used Sona all 5 games. I almost never went bot lane but they seemed very self sufficient, despite getting repeatedly camped. Can't say much bot since I rarely paid attention to bot except for a few counterganks. By the time late game rolls around we were ahead every game, which meant our AD didn't even have an opportunity to shine. -Mid: Bladeorade has a massive champion pool mid, and has someone for almost any matchup/team comp. He's the most aggressively positioned player on the team, and so I was near mid more than any other lane to respond to ganks. He also roams extremely well. All in all, his style mid is a great complement to my jungling style. -Top: reket played Jax and Singed, not sure what else he plays, but those 2 champs already allows me to play every jungler in my pool. More of a "safe" laner which works great with the team since Blade and I tended to be initiating the exchanges and ganks. -Team Comps: Our 9 min game was Ori+Jax solos, so never got to see their full potential. We also had ez+sona. I really want to do that team again. We also ran a TF+Noc+Singed with TP, which was hilarious, but I wonder if Singed is the right choice for that team comp. Noc has to dive and will get focused down, and Singed isn't bursty. Maybe Jax would have been a better pick, and I just build Noc tanky. Thoughts? -Team Play: We haven't had much adversity yet, but I love what I've seen so far. We tend to keep track of the enemy jungler very well so I can be in position to countergank. Our team seems to get ahead when the *other* team ganks, which lets me either countergank or take another objective. Left alone all our lanes would have won by themselves. Later in the game we need a bit of work in making the right calls, but that's because we haven't played together before. I think we should save some replays for the analysis later.
-I've been farming pretty hardcore in our first 5 games, mostly because we badly outclassed our opponents our first 3 games, but I have a feeling I'll be farming less as our opponents improve. I didn't need to gank much since all our lanes won by themselves, but I did countergank a lot. -I need to do a better job of timing buffs and getting team to contest them. In solo queue I only timed dragon/baron.
Overall they were very fun games - great team, great people, and I would love to play again. But I am EST, so we may need to find another jungler just in case. (Or - as someone suggested - one EST and one PST team, but that breaks up the team.) I doubt we'll all be on every night so I'm always down for duo queues or normal games to practice more champs.

Running TP on top singed was really awesome because for some reason there was a perfect ward I could TP to. Good warding guys
I never realized how helpful it is for the jungler to ward top either which was awesome. It was a pleasure playing top lane despite me mainly just farming top, but I guess that works with singed/jax since they scale so hard. When I watch koreans play their top jax does a lot of random crap and is super active which I wasn't most of the time, which may just be because we have been winning so hard...
Hopefully we get better quality games tomorrow Once games get close we will see how good the ADC is, which is probably the most important thing. No pressure.

I think you played top well...2 jayce and 2 irelia matchups limit how aggressive you can be on jax. It's kind of eye opening for me how much more knowledgeable you are about the matchups than I am (I wasn't kidding when I said that I play jungle/support because my mechanics and matchup knowledge in lane kind of suck for my elo lol).
EDIT: Speaking of scrims...who's even on the TL B roster now?

(Or - as someone suggested - one EST and one PST team, but that breaks up the team.) I doubt we'll all be on every night so I'm always down for duo queues or normal games to practice more champs. Bot lane seemed to just roll over the opposing team every game with an early kill, one mistake we made as a team was taking that early tower and then not exerting pressure in their bot jungle. We need to be at every blue and take mid tower faster while aggressively warding with that kind of lead. We ended up just letting Cait farm back into the game, which didn't matter but against better opponents that would likely have made a huge difference.
Top lane I didn't see much but generally in team fights you were doing well, however stepping on that Cait trap after I stunned Karthus knocked you down about 100 points so you get a 0. Also at one point when you were playing Singed vs one of the Amumu junglers, you tossed Amumu into us and my heart kind of stopped. I know we were way ahead but something like that could be a game changer and probably shouldn't get into the habit of doing that haha.
Jungler was pretty much at all the right places, called out counter ganks well and overall performed very well. I was pleased that you were pretty much always by my side as I play super aggressive and have the tendency to go full retard (see that game vs amumu/karthus when I was on TF and amumu ganked mid for like 3 minutes straight and I still went aggressive.) I messed up again that game when you called a counter gank mid and I didn't even know amumu was standing behind me until I saw him on my screen. But good calls and plays.
Me Mid, aside from the Twisted Fate game where I played like garbage and the Oriana game where we won in 9 minutes I think I played pretty well. I play very aggressively and I prefer to out play my opponent rather than out farm. Hopefully my skill increases exponentially as we face better and better opponents otherwise I know my style will fall flat haha. I need to work on my champs that aren't mobile. The jumping around in your face AP's are my best and my positioning can suffer because of that. My TF is decent because I have played him so much, but for instance my Orianna needs a lot of work I can't carry solo que for crap on her but I know I need to be good at her for ranked 5s.
I also do have a lot of champions but we ran into the issues of picking because you guys don't have the champions I play. That could be an issue in the future as unless I can see their mid I don't really like to pick it and one times I had to play Kassadin due to lack of champions I think I wanted Diana. Nothing we can really do about that though just gotta farm dat IPz.
Good games overall glad we went 5-0
I don't know if I will be able to play tonight as my girlfriend and I are fighting and she is coming home from her grandmas tonight but I will do my best. I will for sure be able to play a shit ton tomorrow.
I also can't always stay up that late. I am going to have issues with the schedule and I do suggest looking for another AP Mid player that can back up or even take over. I am still considering starting another team for EST because I understand the need for practice and I just can't promise what you guys need.
|
If you guys need people to scrim against, and I happen to be around, I have no problems giving Bladeorade a little challenge ;P (seeing as it sounds you guys haven't faced anyone difficult at all).

We do need to figure out a EST vs PST thing though. I definitely can't play 7-10 PST every day, and it's tough to commit a full day on weekends. I'm also gone Wed-Sun next week.
Can everyone update on what times during the week are best for them? It's more realistic to schedule ~2 nights a week for ~3 hours of games, and the rest of the time are just practice games. There's no way any reasonable person can keep up that schedule every day, unless you want to be a world first WoW raiding guild.

I'll try to get a specific time frame for everyone tonight. I'm really aiming for 20 hrs of team play minimum per week. We'll just try to figure out the best distribution. I'm thinking weekends are where our heavy lifting will be, but we'll find out.
To your point about bottom, before tonight's games I'll practice Zyra to expand beyond just Sona

So idk what the TL C lineup is but if any of you guys add me in game (ign is iaeuy) we can set up a scrim with my team of irl friends (currently "practicing" for a local school district tourney). I'm not certain what times my team can all get on but some time between 7-10 pst on the weekends should be possible. I'll also hang around the chat channel.

Just to point it out, you realize you're asking people to commit to a part time job that offers no compensation on top of school/families/jobs that already consume most people's time.

I can probably play for an extended period like that 3 days a week. I work full time, live on the east coast and live with my girlfriend, There is just no way that is possible for me. If the hours were earlier I may be able to put in more time but with it being what it is it is just impossible without being a detriment to my life.

I'm sorry but I have no interest in committing to a video game for 20 hours a week. I used to raid in WoW, but that was my younger days. Now I have a full time job and hobbies/friends not related to video games.
But that's not to deter you - you may very well be able to find 4 other guys who do that - just not me.
|
Oh interesting, well I certainly don't want to make this into a second job for people. We'll make it when we can, if nothing else, ranked 5s w/ TLers are much more fun than solo Q, so we can always try to get that going.
I do have a FT job and am married as well. I even put off some parties this week, but I guess I'm just too obsessed with this game

Measuring your team's commitment in hours is a mistake because free time isn't as fluid or contiguous as other resources. I might have 6 free hours on a give day, but the team's 3 hour playtime bisects that into 1 and 2 hour, difficult to allocate chunks. I might have 8 free hours on another day, but they're already bisected by other commitments and no contiguous 3 hour period exists.
Instead of focusing on hours, think about how many evenings/days you're asking for. Even if it's just 3 hours a day this commitment is going to come at the cost of other pursuits and activities. Any night you play is a night where someone will miss out on a movie, an event, or some other activity simply because the remaining free time will not be conveniently aligned.
At the moment you're asking for 4-5 evenings and perhaps a full day. That's true hardcore territory and, speaking as a former guild leader, you're going to have difficulty finding many people on that page. It's not impossible, but chances are TL doesn't have enough hardcore people with matching schedules for that.

Honestly, it's more important to find people that can play on that schedule than it is even to find people who are already high rated. If someone has that kind of time to dedicate, but they aren't the rating you want yet, I'd advise letting them join.
In my WoW experience, I actually got some of my best ratings with friends who had similar schedules to me (read: lazy college students), and could adhere to a fairly intense schedule. We played something like 1-6 M,T, W, Th and 11-8 Sunday. Looking back, damn I can't believe I had that much time on my hands, but we flew through the rating system starting as noobs to 2200+
Later on, I joined up with some eheroes to try to get 2500, and we didn't do very well. All of us were skilled, but didn't have the cohesion or the schedules to pull it off.
|
Ops, didnt get the update. I will be around more often now.
|
Hm, WoW is a bad example in my experience. I've played hundreds of games with some people but couldn't get them to play above mid-duelist level, while all my gladiator teams were highly skilled individual players that we worked out a fairly loose schedule (generally once, maybe twice a week) and most of the them just dicked around in BGs with.
WoW arena and League are very different, just given the longer game times (requiring more frequent team cohesion), map control and objective natures, and fewer abilities/cooldowns to keep track of in League. League is definitely more of a team game where a player will grow in skill much faster after committing to a team.

Wow that schedule is indeed intense, if we can get 5 people to do 50% of that consistently, I have no doubts we'd get to top 32

No lies, but you pretty crazy. Try something like MWF and perhaps a few hours on a weekend (IMO this is still a lot). I feel like if you drill people like an army man, they'll just burn out. Keep it fresh, cause otherwise you're asking people to commit a lot of time, especially for people that get off work at 6 or 7 every night.
Some people would really love to participate in something like this, but just can't make the time commitments. Some have significant others, some have jobs, and I'm pretty sure most of us have an actual life. For example, I don't want to commit my Friday/Saturday nights because what if friends want to hang out all of a sudden? I'm sure many others feel the same way. As Fracus pointed out on his weekend availability, it really does depend for a lot of people. If you make it so we don't have to commit every single weekday, then more people can schedule around their other activities and perhaps be able to make it without feeling like they're essentially partaking in a part-time job. Hell, even my job allows me to work flexible hours.
Don't get me wrong, I think that you're doing a great thing in organizing this, but it's just so hard for many of us to commit to those "insane" hours that you want to implement. Essentially it's becoming more and more of a job and less and less of a game.
|
Yeah to actually commit to hours and hours of practice is hard for a lot of us.

So tonight we had a few good games. We played a team of 2K soloqueuers and a team of 1700 soloqueuers and lost to those teams. Losses are good, but only if you reflect on them and get better. I hope everyone does the same It's easy to blame others when we lose (since it is the other person's fault) but it's also our fault for losing.
My reflection: 1) I should never mid ever again. Games were too easy top and I was getting bored so I wanted to play mid (also shloober mained top so I was like why not) but my mid game is simply too weak. I should stick to one role and expand.
2) Since I don't have a huge champ pool, I end up having to pick my champion when it is my turn. Typically in a competitive environment, top lane gets picked last since it is so easily counterable. I feel that I don't have a solid "vs. anything" champ nor a "tricky" top champ. Jax, Singed and Nidalee which are obviously top. (Nidalee has no counter picks but she feels weak lategame). 2.5) I also feel that our botlane playing Sona so much and with our mid/jungle being non-tanky (except Amumu) our team is lacking in tankiness. This and point 2 makes me believe that I should perhaps play Mundo top (since I play Mundo jungle a LOT so I at least understand him to an extent) and also Mundo is easy to play, deceptive as a jungler, and no one knows how to play against him (and tanky). Another possibility is that I learn chogath (who can be mid or jungle). The thing is I have never played Cho'gath seriously before and it would be a new adventure. Tanky top champs are not hard to learn though, usually just farm and then teamfight.
3) In terms of my top Singed play, I have learned not to first pick Singed. He gets raped by many champions (Jarvan tonight) and I end up using TP to get back to lane instead of team play. It was just a difficult game in general and despite me not losing in farm, my presence was gone completely.
4) In terms of my top Jax play, I feel I do just fine as him. He's probably my best top champion and I'm glad. There were few minor issues such as not backing enough (and buying items or getting wards) when I kill the other champion. Or maybe item building issues such as me always buying bilgewater. Bilgewater slows trinity a lot, and I typically go doransx2 + bilgewater. Since this isn't solo queue and I don't need to snowball, perhaps 1 dorans, a vamp and then straight to trinity, or maybe experiment with stinger into trinity (2k gold cheaper than my current build path).
5) My Nidalee play, I felt was really really strong. Again Nidalee is really easy to lane and I just felt that team fighting is hard but since that was a easy game, analysis isn't necessary for this pick. Maybe I can play Nidalee for a "safe" FP top lane.
I would like to hear my teammates analysis on my analysis please
Always looking to improve.

All my junglers are tanky. I play Amumu, Skarner, Mundo, Cho, Udyr, Noc, WW, Maokai, Naut. I may expand to J4 and Xin. Either way it's not that I don't play tanky junglers, it's more that we fell so far behind and I have to get oracles that I simply couldn't get tanky items in time.
I need to play more games with our mids. I was so used to playing with Bladeorade that I didn't adapt well to our more passive mids today. In general I tend to be good at furthering an advantage when ahead, but don't play as well when behind.
Wave recorded our games at www.twitch.tv/waveofshadows I haven't watched them yet but will later.

IamWetter here, first few games were pretty shaky. Get in the backpack and prepare to be carried.

I don't like this whole support jungle meta, I wanted to run double dorans sorc amumu but didn't want to get chased out of the team at first sight huehue

gg's Wetter, I hope we get more chances to duo, was a ton of fun. I'll definitely work more on Leona; I think my Sona is okay, except for that last fight where I tunneled trying to ult Lux/Graves and let Darius man-dive
|
Is there a TL D Team or something? I'm a 1750 support player and want to be on a fairly serious team but this schedule doesn't work for me at all.
|
Some thoughts about last nights games:
We had no cohesion at most points. We were playing with a bunch of new people yes but the issue was there was always multiple calls in a given situation. The most glaring of which was our last game when our Baron ward went down and we asked Singed to facecheck it as he was the tankiest and when we saw they weren't doing Baron there were calls to back off and calls to initiate so Singed ended up just dying and one other person got caught and died leading to a Nexus kill.
We simply cannot have that. Personally I have no problem making the calls and I am generally very aware of everything going on because of my SC2 background. If you guys would rather someone else make calls I am fine with that but figured I would throw it out there.
Second, we need to stop fucking diving. Like seriously. Just because we are ahead doesn't mean we can't throw. like 9 times out of 10 instead of trying to poke a tower down we would dive, trade 2 for 2 or 3 for 3, except they would get shut downs and we wouldn't get tower.
Thirdly if we are going to dive PLEASE call it out. Don't just dive without saying anything. We are all on skype there is no reason for a lack of communication. If you think diving is a good option say can we dive this or just I'm diving and then go, don't just do it.
Overall we had some good games we just had consistency issues which we could say are due to new people and I know 2+2 was playing Leona for the first couple times but lets not make those excuses. We need to have better communication and decision making all around. Regardless of who is playing what role at what time.

A little late, but I lurk too much and always wanted to play with some TL'ers

dont necessarily have to add me to the any teams but i wanna play with some TL guys, could be fun

i havent been playing much recently so im a bit rusty, but when i was grinding soloqueue about a week ago i was confident i could hit plat before the season reset (1850). to be honest, im sure i was good enough at the time to hit plat but i sort of just lost interest for a bit and started to do other things, and now im really rusty and there probably isnt enough time left (and i wont be winning as much as i was before) so im just gonna wait til the season resets most likely.
anyways for season 3 itd be cool to practice with some guys around my level (or a bit higher/lower, i dont care) with a mindset of staying calm and just fixing mistakes and improving. That way we can all help eachother out and hopefully get better
just add me up if you wanna play, ill help anyone out however i can when i have time. btw im a dude, the summoner name is an inside joke hahaha dont worry about it.
edit: i wanna learn how to play draven and twitch because i think they have a lot of potential, so if anyone could help me out with learning them (tips/tricks/etc) thatd be cool too

draven and twitch watch aphromoo he kinda got known playing those 2.

gg guys 9-1 today! i'll be on all day tmrw

lol this is pretty funny. i offer scrim to help you guys out. tl b can teach you guys how to improve etc. i never got a yes/no answer... instead, you make ranked team, play 5 games, make new ranked team, play 5 games, repeat like 4 times. which makes me wonder, what are you trying to accomplish with this "team?" op sounds like you trying to be serious but what is the point of stomping 1200s repeatedly with smurf teams?

Yeah I'd personally love to do this, and am free today too. It looked like twoplustwo just wanted to play and took whoever is online at the moment. We'll probably just end up with multiple teams once we figure out people's schedules.

You received an answer which was a no at the time, stop being so dramatic, lol. That group of people had never played with each other before. In fact, I was just playing because they needed a 5th.

Oh, Wasabi you're not interested in joining a team? Even if we have a second team that's not so...hardcore with its practice schedule?

If you guys are free any time through the day, my team would like to scrim you guys too! We're not that good but I think we'd be better practice than most of the ranked teams you'll encounter by making new teams constantly. Add me on league if you're up for it!

Yeah we'd definitely appreciate your help. However the "we" is not even close to being defined at this point. The reason I keep making new teams is because not everyone could make it everyday this week and I just happen to have a ton of free time. I'll be on all day today as well, and I definitely don't want to waste time playing provisional games every day.
So just to reiterate, once we get 5 consistent players, I'm up for scrim any time.

GG guys! Thank you for playing, and thanks to Wave for casting. I definitely learned a lot as a player, and I think we did as a team. I watched Wave's vods and here were some of my reasons for what I did - please let me know if you have feedback.
Game 1 vs random 5s team: -Double Aegis was on purpose, due to Malph and me both needing to sit in Karthus defile when we dive. I felt Malph should have just rushed Abyssal though.
-Noc wasn't really that good a pick, because how hard it is to stick to Ezreal. You saw how that destroyed me in the early 4man gank when ez E+Flashed my ult which led to my death. I think we picked it to dive Karthus and to go with Orianna ult, but Noc is kinda hard to pair with Ori and Karthus destroys me with defile. I think Mundo is a better pick, and Cho if we don't need damage. We already have Malph for diving/initiating.
-I died counterjungling wraiths because I saw Rengar bot and overestimated how long it would take for him to get there. Stuff like that is so helpful with a vod to see later.
Skirm: -E first on Amumu was because of the level 1 fight. I typically E first anyway but did not have a strong leash that game and that set me really far back to Hec's counterjungling immediately at the start of the game. W is better if I have a poor leash (I run MS quints so I just take way too much damage if I start E).
-I played the whole game at 400+ ping. Not an excuse but thats why my reaction times and bandages seemed so off. The biggest mistakes though were me directly engaging Anivia, which lets her ult, since Amumu ult doesn't stop her from casting and I just blow up.
-The 2 games that you didn't cast we got progressively better. The 2nd skirm we were doing really well except I shouldn't have gotten 2 gp5 after being really fed early. We had really poor team communication after early laning phase too. Game 3 we decided to pick laners with immense lane/jungle presence (Nid, TF, Mundo) and was finally able to go aggressive.
-One thing I really need to fix is overextending. A lot of times they're meant solely for zoning and backing off, but I need to communicate with team to cover me if I ever counterjungle. Also, I typically get an early oracles (not on Noc/Amumu because I'm squishy early and need to dive) but end up losing it a lot. I need to just clear wards to put pressure on lanes, not necessarily go all in with a fight (which happened in game 2 with me on maokai).
|
I'd like to play, my main is ahAbyss on NA. Rating is 1595 I think.
|
Okay so thank you 2 plus 2 for the games this week but this just isnt working for me. I know it isnt working for sandsyer either. I just cant stay up as late as needed because of the time difference. So I regret to say I cannot be apart of TLC.
However I will be forming my own team that so far consists of myself mid sandster jungling and schloober top. We need a support and adc and TLC needs a mid and jungler.
I think we have all improved over the past week and I hope t that continues. Once our rosters finalize we should do inhouses when our times overlap.
Ill still play this week until sandster gets back if you want.
Gl to all

i would like to ad im not that good but want to rally iimprove this season

Hey guys, yeah these hours are pretty brutal for me. I get to work around 8am EST so scheduling games that last well past midnight is really bad for me. I don't mind subbing/scrimming if people are on, but I can't consistently make those hours I'm really aiming for ~7-10pm EST for arranged 5s, a few times a week, with the rest of the times being "if people are around we'll play, otherwise we'll sub or solo/duo queue".
I definitely feel we've grown a lot as a team, and as individual players, too. I watched parts of the 2nd scrim last night and it was pretty awesome to see Ahri and 2+2 win their lane against plat players despite 2+2 picking up zyra just this week.
|
Hey Blade and Sandster, I guess I knew this day would come, and it's definitely a pain to see you guys go.
Regardless, I think our team did pretty well in the short time that we played together, and it was a ton of fun.
Blade and Shloober, if it's not too late for you guys tonight, I'll be on at 7 (10 EST).

Don't give up yo. Find new people. Just might need to cut down on the practice time and perhaps try to schedule it to accommodate for both coasts.
|

It might also be good to split the team to east and west coast like someone mentioned earlier. The 2 teams practice separately and then scrim each other once in a while. You could also have like a monthly event where the game is casted by the golems.
|
I was saying a few pages back that with how many people want to play, it's definitely doable to have 2 teams, with times that are more fit for each coast. There will be some overlap so that would be the time to scrim.
|
TL Beast Coast vs TL Best Coast. Do it now.

On November 15 2012 03:16 Roffles wrote: Don't give up yo. Find new people. Just might need to cut down on the practice time and perhaps try to schedule it to accommodate for both coasts. From what I understand 2plus2 works till 6pm pst so that would be tough for him which is why I'm starting a team more for est or people that play earlier. I liked playing with our team I just can't stay up past midnight and work at 6am on a consistent basis.
So like i said I need an adc and a support. Ill probably try you out sometime next week. I want to hit top 32 at least and if you are confident in your ability to do that then pm me. Ill likely start my own thread soon also to not clutter this one.

Yeah I don't usually get home from work until 6, but a TL-west vs TL-east rivalry would be awesome, we'd keep each other motivated for sure.

I like it. TLC Beast and TLC Best.

why? just TL Beast and TL Best

I can get better at AD, but I don't have a lot of them. Also, I can't actually commit a lot of time to a team, so I could be more of a sub I guess.
|
Wait soniv what do you play anyway? It'd be a lax schedule anyway, not trying to burn out players here.
|
Main mid lol. Jungle is the only thing I can't play halfway competently, although I'm getting better at that
|
Oh well, screw blade, I don't like that guy anyway!
But yeah that'd be awesome to have you. Anyway I'm gone starting now until Sun so hopefully there are two teams coming together by then.
|
I definitely think having separate teams for East and West makes a lot of sense. Many of the problems TL B ran into involved the three hour time disparity between our East Coast/Midwest players and the West Coast.
We could always just retire TL B and make TL Beast/Best the new thing. It also better fits those ee han Korean team names. This team would obviously be TL Best.
inb4 teams break up because no one can agree on the names.
Random Aside: Am I the only one who keeps reading that one thread in the sidebar as "Navi-Uprising in Present Germany"?

bow down to our glorious leader

heil i would be willing to sub and coach for TL best coast when i start having more time cuz beast coast guys suck pce3.

Thanks for all your input roffles. One thing I learned is that once we grab the bot tower, I should be warding deep in the OP jungle. So if I'm purple-side I should ward their red jungle and if I'm blue-side I should ward their blue jungle. This helps put more pressure on mid as well.

I mean it really just makes it easier for you to actually like do anything. If you grab the tower, you really can't move past the river too far without any vision. Even if you ward the tribush or perhaps river, by the time you see him you're dead anyways lol.

Yeah it seems so intuitive now, I guess in my 1500 soloQ games we just never take the bot tower. If we're ahead and we keep farming lol.
I'll be warding much more aggressively from now on.

The roster is pretty consistent for now, but we'd still like a dedicated jungle/top if you can make the times.
In other news, we played TSM this past weekend! We even got FB too, but was downhill from there.

I play jungle/top usually, but I don't know how consistent my schedule will be the next couple weeks. Not only do I have family around, I'm also getting ready to move to an apartment, but I'd love to play with you guys when I have a chance.
