the attack speed gains are huge for pushing towers with ult after you force someone out of lane base armor of 3 increase is an increase from 10.8% damage reduction to 13% damage reduction, an increase of 120% shield strength increases were insane, 20 more damage (150% more) per every cast, casts come 10% faster, that's another damage reduction of like 165%...
and the spellcast times were nice. maybe a bit trivial but everything helps
i definitely think people not knowing how to play her didn't help her case, but she was decidedly weak on release

think my roommate found it on reddit. it was a scrappy recording of the champion page where it shows a short video of each of the abilities. at a bad angle though, like a lolreplay angle, so it's hard to see the diameter of the (supposed) circle that she dashes around in.
from what I gathered though it seems to be about as large as mummy ult and she just fuckin dashes around. hopefully she can targeted, she's looking like an AD katarina right now.

How is she not much of a team fighter? AoE stun on ridiculously low c/d, will chase down your squishies 'till the ends of the earth with dash+Q, shield and hp regen from BT+ult will let her 1v2 or more in many cases.
aoe is pretty small. hp regen is esentially irrelevant in team fights, and you are simply describing any kind of an anti-carry. riven has trouble because her distance closing gets fucked up by shit in the way, so either you initiate with Q and cant use it to get to carry, or you save it and then just get kited by the team. she has no burst for the carry either (other than ult spell) so it takes too long for the carry to die before people jump on you.
also she can be cc'd the entire time she's q'ing towards someone. I dont think she's bad, just definitely weaker in teamfights than laning. for example wukong is a much stronger teamfighter.
Nope, still gonna have to disgree with you here. AoE stun even with small radius is huge for disruption and positioning especially when it's decently easy to get near someone like with Riven. Sure she doesn't have a long targeted dash, but she can still get to where she wants to go without too much issue. If she gets cced or her closing gets fucked with, then your real carries are going to be able to do that much more. Her hp regen and survivability from damage and Wriggle's is ridiculous, never mind if she actually builds a couple tank items. The shield on low cooldown allows her to stay at roughly even hp if she isn't getting bursted down heanily. Yes she has no burst herself, but not every champion does. She won't necessarily be able to take down a carry immediately by herself, but that's not her job as she isn't a burst assassin. Her job is to disrupt and deal damage to the best of her ability for as long as possible---as such she will often last until the end of a teamfight and be able to clean up or chase off stragglers/carries. This does not make her bad in teamfights, though I would agree Wukong is better (there are many better).

Yeah, she was plenty fine when released. She was perfectly balanced imo. Just no one wanted to work out how to play her. Then again, tbh that was before everyone went wriggles. so no one did wrigs first riven (except me! lol tehehehehe).
