Practice partner 1v1's for hotshot and jiji, and can sub for any position on any champion and do well. Sick. Funny thing is that in certain aspects I'd rate him better than HSGG, Jiji and Doublelift in their respective roles. He might also be a better ganking jungler than SV but that I'm not so certain about. =P

Mid Ahri can just 3 dash out of any pressure, Olaf can ult and run away. Cait has traps and net to remove herself from any trouble. I think CLG's plan was just to get really safe lanes, farm really hard, and come into the mid-game on par with their opponents. yeah it really fits their playstyle, they're all just farmers. hsgg and jiji get to just sit around and rice (although i was impressed with jiji's ganks on botlane), saint can boss people around and they get a farmed late game cait. makes a lot of sense and i'm interested to see what kind of counter strategies the other teams will come up with to counter it. i'm also very impressed with how well hotshot played his matchups, kennen and vlad seem like perfect counter picks but he handled them quite well. great play by jiji too, ahri strong.

I think CLG's plan was just to get really safe lanes, farm really hard, and come into the mid-game on par with their opponents. CLG has almost always been a team that doesn't really win early game but rather wins through superior late game and team fighting ability. Even in the super early days of LoL before Doublelift or Saint were even on the team they would just lane and win late by team fighting or by picking better late game comps. The reason CLG dominated so hard during the early days of LoL wasn't because they had better laners or more skilled players (although they certainly did have people who were all really good) it's because they were just straight up better than the other European and NA teams at team fighting. That of course has changed now but they still rely on their team fighting ability rather than picking comps to just win lane phase (as teams like M5 or TSM sometimes do).

I think one of the big things that CLG did was take a step backwards in time, since a lot of the Korean teams decide games by the 10 minute mark. They just don't play against teams that know how to be safe and make the game drag out till they have a large advantage. CLG was playing like they would against TSM or Dignitas, teams that understand how to plan to build advantages slowly, squeezing all the objectives out of the map. They lost because they were not expecting the wild risks that the opposing team are willing to take.
