One thing that has always gotten to me when it came to the masteries portion is the whole "pathing" issue. Just because of how certain champions kits exist/items they build/way they are played, it made me feel like "pathing" really wasn't a choice. If I am playing Akali and I am spec-ing out the Cunning tree for example, I have no use for anything mana, so by force I have to take the opposite choice. I don't feel like I am customizing anything. I think they really need to do away with pathing. If I want my Cait to sack AS to have more dmg per hit, I should be able to do that within a fair enough range. This is real customization.

it looks really stupid with what they showed us so far.
Ok so the adc takes berserk every single time, and the support takes perxie every single time? Where's the diversity lol. all its gonna do is shaft champs that rely on getting stats pumped into them (akali, vlad, etc) and help champs that don't.

I'm thinking warrior into RFC into IE and then the game probably ends before you build anything else. But if it does go long and you hit 6 items your team is probably way ahead in its ability to deal damage in straight fights or poke turrets from a distance.
Seems like the reward for building on hit is pretty much gone. That's sad since it makes them less unique, but it is what it is. Hard building adc normal items with jungle money.
don't think rfc/ie will be common even if on paper it sounds like it has great synergy with her changes
ie too expensive and rfc won't do too much for kindred. she'll be able to get range with her stacks and extra range every so often isn't going to make or break her.
still think some kind of dueling/on-hit build will be best on her.
the executes will help her finish off low targets and she still has current health %damage built in.
bloodrazor + hurricane/pd/steraks/frozen mallet/maw/cleaver/GA/botrk/death's dance I think some combination of those items will be the most popular on her.
ie seems fun if she gets ridiculously fed but yeah ie is not something you'll really see from the jungle lol

Anything on trundle that forces them to give you attention is good. Its why knights vow is really good on him as well
the difference being that most supports are going to continually shield/cc if you leave them alive so you actually want to kill them. Trundle just drops 3 big time things into the fight and thats it. You ult, pillar, and Q an ad and the other team doesnt have to worry about much else but those things are all very powerful. You solve the first problem by walking in and positioning accordingly to your character. Locket is just a really good item and there is no reason not to build it.

I watch more than I play these days so I risk putting my foot in my mouth but from a viewer's perspective Rek Sai ult was boring. 99% of the time I was watching it was used, on cd, to go back to farming jungle because there wasn't much else you could do with it (I guess it also helped with objective control but that's about it). I'm pretty sure Riot imagined it as a not-OP global gank/counter-gank ability, something different from TF/Pantheon/Nocturne/Shen, but the result was definitely was a lot more boring than that. They wanted people to be terrified when they heard rek-sai scream much like nocturne's "darkness", but it never worked out that way. So they replaced the ultimate with something else stuffed with more riot design memes (3 hits to activate, gap closer, and % missing health damage).
They really missed the thing that actually scares people about nocturne ult though. its the vision denial that panics people, not the dash or the VO.
I wonder if she's just going to lane now that she can trade with a few autos into a true damage bite, and heal consistently from burrow, and probably build quite a bit like fiora.
EDIT: she's pretty good top, dunno what i'd build yet though. I havent played top in 4 seasons so im pretty mediocre.
Her ult makes her untargetable so it's pretty solid.

Can anyone check the statistics of what is the win percentage for the teams that got 1st baron? I don't know where to check for it, however, I really have the feeling that baron is too strong at the moment, which is not necessary bad, but its like a hidden nexus objective, take 1st baron one way or another and you sealed the deal.
edit: I found it, its 80%, however, 1st blood is 60% and rift,1st turret and dragon are 70%, so 80 does not sound so big for Baron, but still, the feeling stays

Well the problem with those kind of stats is that the better (and therefore winning) team is more likely to get first blood/tower/dragon.
|
Yeah. Ideally what you would want to understand the strength of baron would be a grid with gold differential at time of first baron on one axis and win percentage of the team getting first baron on the other.
If win percentage goes up directly with gold difference then baron is too weak and the wins are coming from the prexisting lead which helped take it. On the other hand if the line is too flat and the team that gets first baron wins about the same amount of the time weather they were up or down gold before the take then baron would likely be too strong.
I don't think that chart is public, but that's what you would look at as a dev.

More specifically, what you want is the average win % given gold advantage at time X, and then how certain events shape that probability. If a team up 5k gold at 25 minutes has a winrate of 60%, does taking a Baron at that point increase the winrate or decrease it?
This is also how all those websites with item winrates should be doing their stats (e.g., Mejai's has a high winrate, but the true effect of Mejai's is what its impact is on the winrate given that you're up X gold at Y minutes), but I guess none of them have enough data for that.

I think riot certainly has that data, but its probably best if they keep it for themselves for their own balancing purposes, and not open the flood of tears and pseudo-experts upon themselves.
