Fnatic took the European League Championship Series title on April 19, with four rookies after an exodus of star players at the end of last season. Now, one of them is coming home.
Martin “Rekkles” Larsson was subject of one of the largest transfers in European League of Legends history when the youngster moved to rivals Elements (then known as Alliance). The season would go a lot better for his former team than his new one, however. After a disappointing seventh-place finish with Elements, a return to his former home should provide a better prospect of championship glory.
Fnatic brought in Pierre “Steeelback” Medjaldi to attempt to fill the void left by Larsson. Medjaldi entered the season as an almost entirely unknown player, having featured in a few Challenger-level tournaments, and was one of the four LCS rookies recruited in the offseason. Medjaldi has often been regarded as the least valuable member of the team by viewers and analysts, even after Fnatic won the split. The player maintains the team's second-highest KDA and GPM but was only the third damage threat.
Medjaldi will attend the Mid Season Invitational with Fnatic. That will be his last outing as part of the team, however. The tournament will see the European organizations take on Team SoloMid, EDward Gaming, AHQ esports club, Besiktas esports club, and a yet to be determined team from South Korea. When the team returns to start preparing for the Summer Split, however, it will be Larsson in the starting lineup.

That's good. That should make them even stronger than they are now.

Would be too funny of a story when fnatic looses with rekkles. so it will prob happen.

If it does happen and there arent too many arguments in the team this should be the first eu team with a top player in the region for every position.
|
It's understandable. Rekkle did not want to work with xPeke, but xPeke also left... so....

EU super team hype?
I want to see Rekkles on a team that doesn't fall apart around him for once, so I can finally judge just how good of a player he is. Fnatic is looking to be stacked, they might be the shining light of EU at worlds.

honestly this seems bad for fnatic, they won this split because the adc was not prioritized in a meta where it is actually better to have solos that can carry imo. Their team worked so well because of steelback's conservative style while the rest of them roamed and went ham. Bringing in some one that is going to demand the bulk of the farm and want to farm instead of team play/objectives i think it will hurt them in the short term and possibly long term if rekkles doesnt get his ego in check
|
I'm not excited for this change. Rekkles looks/does good when his team is doing good. Sure, Steelback may not have been the greatest ADC but at least he was decent enough to help carry games when the other two lanes were being focused on and he didn't even require that much farm to do it. Unless Rekkles changes his playstyle and his insatiable lust for CS I can only see this hurting them in the long wrong. Also, Steelback doesn't really have an ego to butt heads against and so he was probably more open and easier to work with. Bringing in a guy like Rekkles who has a pretty big ego and the butting heads will commence.

Even Forgiven thinks Steelback is better than that trash scrub rekkles.
Where did he say that?
In his AMA he didn't even mention Steelback in T2 adc, so he ddoesn't seem to think highly of him either.

Forgiven's public statements have thoroughly discredited him as an evaluator of other players. He's basically just a guy whos elite at 3 champions in LoL based purely on his laning skills.

I generally think a person's ablity to right-click stuff does not necessarily correlate with his ability to evaluate other players.

steelback makes more with low farm then rekkles does with more farm. UOL will be first place next split.
