The LCS finals concluded last Sunday with Europe treated to an epic five game series between newcomers Unicorns of Love and Fnatic . Fnatic proved to be too good for the fan favourites UoL, whose wacky picks and play style were not enough to overcome Yellowstar and his ragtag of rookies. The end result being 3-2 to Fnatic after a thrilling final held in Spain’s Palacio Vistalegre.
Once again champions of Europe, the four time champions of Europe and one time World champions, Fnatic have proven their ability to rebuild to stay on top of the EU LCS pack. Having now qualified for the Mid Season Invitational, they will be keen to prove that their roster will able to compete on a world stage despite some doubt over the quality of the EU LCS.
In North America, two familiar faces locked heads in a battle for the NA LCS title. For the fourth time in a row, Team SoloMid and Cloud 9 would face off and this time TSM emerged victors.
As the most consistent team in the NA LCS TSM came in as favourites, but Cloud 9 could not be counted out as they looked to prove that the longest standing roster in professional League of Legends history could still compete with the best.
In the end, TSM proved to be too good for Cloud 9, pulling out a 3-1 victory and announcing themselves as undoubtedly the best western team heading into the Mid Season Invitational. TSM have repeatedly said that they’re building a team to compete on the world stage and MSI will prove to be their first major test on their road to worlds.
The Promotion matches also finished and the LCS teams in Europe were able to defend their spot. ROCCAT beat the academy team from the Copenhagen Wolves 3:0 and Giants was able to accomplish a 3:1 victory against Reason Gaming.
On the other side of the Atlantic Dignitas won against Fusion Gaming in a close nail-biter with 3:2 but Winterfox was defeated by Team Dragon Knights.
Everything for the MSI and the Summer Split is set and ready to go!

But still TSM is damn strong atm compared to other western teams and also compared to western teams in season 3 and 4. But worlds is still a bit away, things can change until then. They are looking good for MSI though. | ||
