Your play style?
I don't like to just win in a boring way, so I'm always trying to play in a way that will be enjoyable to watch.
Players you look to as a goal?
Out of the North American players, it would be Doublelift. From Korea, it would be Piglet or Imp that I'm working towards as a goal.
Your best champions?
Out of the ADCs, it would be Ashe – even though we don't see her much anymore. Recently, Corki is the champion I'm playing the most. When I play Top, I think Jax is my best champion.
Are you nervous that your support from last year, Riosilva, retired and the support player changed?
Riosilva was really a skilled support, but with the new supports who joined the team, though I was a bit nervous at first, I really do think they'll show a lot of growth from here.
From the point of view of an ADC, what makes a good support?
I think it's positioning during the laning phase that separates a good support from a great one. If they move too far forward or play too far back, it becomes difficult for you to move around as you need to and you can lose lane. I always hope that my support player will understand what it is I'm looking for.
What is it that you look for in a support?
A player with the reactions to move according to the actions of our lane opponents. For example, someone who is able to time the Janna shield with the enemy auto-attacks.
How did last year go for you?
The winter season was a tough battle for us, but we really turned it around and were able to make it to #1.
What was the most difficult part?
We were 4th all through the winter season, so as we played we started to wonder if what we were doing had any meaning to it. But we were able to win, and that made it better.
What was the happiest part?
We started from 4th, and moved up in the ranks one by one and were able to have the confidence that we wouldn't lose to anyone. That made me really happy.
How did it feel to win?
I really couldn't put it into words, I was so happy. To have struggled so much and to make it all the way there, to be moved like that...that's what it was like.
Is there anyone you'd like to thank?
I'm thankful to all the players and staff at DetonatioN, and to all the fans who supported us, and to everyone who taught us new strategies.
Are you pressured by the fact that you've become #1, and are now the team to be chased after?
As I said before, I think it's become a fight that we absolutely cannot lose. That pressure is intense.
Who is your rival team?
In practice matches, we've been playing a lot with RabbitFive, who are on our same team. But recently, we haven't been able to beat them, so I really would like to beat RF here.
Are there any players you have your eye on?
RF's ADC, Zerost, has really strong sense from his time playing FPS games, so I definitely don't want to lose to him.
What is your goal for this year?
Of course, we want to win the LJL. But from there, I want to look out to the world. I want to make it to the World Championships, and win at least one or two games: as many as we can.
Where do you think you improved over last year?
I think I really improved my mental state. Because of that, the team's atmosphere also improved and we were able to play better, so I think that's where my biggest improvement was. In the middle of a match, if everyone stops talking over voice chat your next move in the game disappears, so I tried hard to speak up during matches.
You seem like you look at winning as extremely important. Why do you focus so much on winning?
Well a match is either a win, or a loss, isn't it? I think a loss is a zero, and a win is 100, so I think you have to win in order to begin anything.
A word to your fans:
Of course, this year we'll be practicing much more, in order to surprise you with our play even more than before.
