For example, if you like playing someone like Tinker, recommending you someone with the playstyle of CM is not going to be enjoyable.

But Nami, Janna, Leona, Lulu, Annie and stuff like that should be enjoyable for you. Good luck and have fun on Summoners Rift. Even though, DotA is way more variable than LoL :p

Annie has a Warlock ult. Brand has a similar kit to Lina. Other high damage dealing supports would be champs like Zyra and Vel Koz.

A good set of mages to start off with:
As an aside to all of this, I do recommend just playing every champion in the free rotation every week. Just because you enjoyed CC Supports on DotA doesn't mean you might not enjoy other playstyles in LoL! For example you might realise that it wasn't the 5th position aspect of Supports in DotA that you enjoyed, but rather how satisfying roaming and making plays felt. In that case you might find that you get a lot of fun out of jungling, or a playing a tempo-driving mid lane champion in LoL. Use your time levelling up your account to just try as much as possible and get a feel for what you find the most fun.
