In their last match, LGD defeated Star Horn Royal Club 2-0. First, congratulations Pyl for winning four games in a row. How do you think your team managed to pull that off?
Pyl: I feel like my teammates are very strong. The major reason why is because we train quite a lot everyday. In addition, we have two top laners, which means we have two different strategies. The other team doesn't really have time to deal with that~
Speaking of your top laner - in your first game, you used Acorn. And in your second game, you used Flame. Do you feel like they have different play-styles in your team during competition?
Pyl: Acorn's ability to provide support and play against ganks is really great. When he plays, top lane is not a lane we really have to worry about. It's not a lane we really have to take care of. If it's Flame - and I'm sure most people saw it - we have to be more nurturing. We let him take control and he plays at the center of the team more often. So they're two players with very different play styles.
Now I've seen over the course of these few days, your synergy with Imp is pretty good. Can you tell us about briefly about him as a player and the current state of your synergy together?
Pyl: His mechanics are very good, but most importantly, his way of thinking and his understanding of the game is very good. He knows what to do in certain situations and sometimes I tend listen to him more. In terms of synergy, I feel like we're so-so because when we're playing, there are a lot of details that we aren't able to discuss. So I hope that, in the future, I'll work harder.
Now we saw in the first game, you won quite smoothly. The second game seemed a bit more of a stalemate. Can you tell us the reason for this?
Pyl: Well, in the beginning we played pretty well. The reason could be because in a 2v2 bottom lane skirmish, there were some mistakes made (reference: it was a skirmish where Fizz/JarvanIV lost to Kassadin/Jax). And Fizz became a bit hesitant fighting Kassadin since he was fed. In a mid lane skirmish, I was caught out by InSec. But our opponents didn't push too hard against us so we all had time to grow individually. And so Flame's Irelia grew.
I want to ask you another question. During these two days of competition, we had two other well-known teams play - first is EDG. The second is OMG. Can you discuss with us their performances over these past two days? Let's first talk about EDG.
Pyl: During scrims, EDG's very strong. And with the addition of Korean players, it's hard to find a mistake in any of their lanes. Their strengths are in their synergy together and it seems like each one of them are almost invulnerable.
OMG won yesterday 2-0 against VG. I'm sure you saw the games. What are your thoughts on how their team plays as a whole?
Pyl: I feel like they haven't worked together enough as a team yet to get used to each other. Because they just started out. When they play together more, they'll get a lot stronger. Because they haven't had time to fully understand each other yet.
So for LGD, we can say that this season has seen an increase of a lot of strong teams. We hope that you will perform better and better throughout the season and beat your opponents. Thank you very much for joining CGA for an interview~!
