Q: Today’s victory marks three series wins in a row. What are your feelings on this?
Coco: I’m very satisfied with our performance so far. However, even though we’ve gotten this win streak versus some strong teams, our match against GE Tigers is even more important. It’s not time to celebrate yet.
Q: Do you think CJ’s strength has really risen?
Coco: Before, I would only do well during practice, but now it seems I can perform on the big stage as well. On the flip side, I’ve recently been doing more poorly in scrims, haha.
Q: In game 1, you came close but failed to pull off a comeback against KT. What was your state of mind afterward?
Coco: After the game, we kept each other’s spirits up with encouraging words. Even though our early game in game 1 was very poor, we actually found an opportunity for a comeback, and nearly executed it. We had to give ourselves credit for that. So we didn’t despair going into the rest of the series.
Q: You’ll soon be facing off against GE Tigers. How confident are you in a victory?
Coco: I think Kuro is definitely a world-class midlaner. If I can outlane him in our series against GE, it might be a major moment of growth for me. Of course, it’s not just Kuro – all of the members of GE Tigers are outstanding players. Lee and GorillA are two of their players that deserve special attention and care.
Q: Your poke on Jayce was so strong.
Coco: I’ve always been confident on poke-style champions. I seemed to be having a good day today, even starting from game 1, so I picked him in game 3 without hesitation.
Q: Have you been playing much LeBlanc recently as well?
Coco: Well, after she was nerfed, I actually thought she wasn’t very good anymore, so I didn’t practice her much. But when I started trying her again, I felt like she was still a very strong carry-capable champion, so I revised my judgment.
Q: After today, you might have your sights set on the season MVP. Do you think about that at all?
Coco: Not in particular, but if I do get it I will of course be very happy. Compared to my personal records, the success of the team will always be a much higher priority.
Q: After your drawn series against KT in the preseason, Shy mentioned that he wanted to win back the fans’ support this season. To some extent, it seems like you may already have succeeded.
Coco: I think after our victory against SKT, we were already halfway there. It seems like the fans’ support is slowly but surely returning. We’ll reward them with even better performances to come.
Q: Why do you think you’ve been on a hot streak lately?
Coco: I think both our individual skill and teamwork capabilities are leaps and bounds ahead of our preseason state. As a result, we’ve all gotten closer as well. I think these factors together will continue to propel our improvement.
Q: What’s your goal this season?
Coco: Of course, the championship. Right now, we’ve accomplished a three win streak and we’re riding a huge wave of momentum. We’ll work very hard to defeat GE as well.
Q: Anything else you want to add?
Coco: If we do defeat GE Tigers, we’ll be the top ranked team. To reach that position, we will redouble our efforts. Thanks to all the fans who believed in us. To the coaches, management, organization, and everyone involved in the team, I want to express thanks. Lastly, even though I was named MVP today, I couldn’t have done it without excellent performances from my teammates, so I want to give credit to them.
