Congratulations to our horsey brothers!
Team Acer will be working side by side with one of the most promising and entertaining teams in Western League of Legends: The Unicorns of Love. January 21st. Bad Tölz, Germany. One day prior to the beginning of the long-awaited Season 5 by Riot Games, Team Acer and Unicorns of Love are proud to announce their partnership for the LCS Spring Split.
"Unicorns of Love earned a lot of respect since they came out of nowhere in the Challenger scene. Their IEM run was really impressive, but at that time we were already in touch with UoL's manager", says Uwe Semtner, CEO of Team Acer. "Fabian contacted us right after he heard we are willing to invest into League of Legends. We at Team Acer instantly liked the way Fabian and his team think. They are here to play and to win - we will do everything supporting them to achieve all their goals", he continues.

Note to self: make team with silly name. Seems to be a good way to get sponsored by acer

Instead of SHCAcerXD we have UoAcerL now. Seriously, Acer, sign someone already. It won't be worse than in season 2.

Because SHCXD wanted to play with their name and UoL want to develop their own brand.

In this case, UOL committed publicly to keeping their name, logo, and brand going into LCS, so they wouldn't have even signed if Acer were looking for a team rebranding.

I wish Acer would pick up a team as a name sponsor then, but I guess that makes sense.

I have a great amount of respect for whoever in Team Acer is making the decisions of who to sponsor.

UoL is a good team to partner with, easily top 3-4 team in EU right now

I don't see how.

If I am not mistaken Team Acer already wanted to sign SHC as Team Acer, but they wanted to "build their brand". I wouldn't be surprised if it was the exact same case with UoL, although I have to say that the UoL brand at least has a slighty better chance at succeeding with it.

SHC was signed with Acer for a very short period of time and then they signed with MYM

Don't worry, it will. They are the 3rd or 4th best team in the EU LCS right now.
