In line with C9's new pick-up of a new Challenger team roster, longstanding North American organization CLG has also decided to throw their hat into the Challenger scene. Current roster : Jonathan " Westrice" Nguyen - Top Lane Thomas “ Thinkcard” Slotkin - Jungle Brandon " Easy" Doyle - Mid Lane Kenny " i KeNNy u" Nguyen - AD Carry Alec " Gremlin" Warren - Support Westrice and Thinkcard are both well-known to North American fans, but the rest of the team consists of Challenger names. Easy has enjoyed success playing for Zenith e-sports. i Kenny U and Gremlin (formerly known as BabyZeus) are both role-swapping, from top and mid respectively. Kenny and Zeus formerly played for XDG alongside Xmithie in the last Challenger split. Source : GP10 Article

I preferred kenny as a top but easy and BabyZeus are cool at least.
That westrice though, I thought he retired.

Easy was pretty much only so-so guy in Zenith while other were just awful. Kenny though is literally losing his chance to shine in NA.
*KeithMcBrief, who Doublelift has publically praised as one of the top solo queue AD Carries in North America, has also spent time playing AD Carry for the team, but it is most likely as a substitute. Just a sub ^_^

It's a really strange roster honestly, especially because Kenny is putting school on hold to try to make LCS while Westrice is treating this as a part-time endeavor (and even admitted as much). I would think Kenny top and someone like Intense/I Uzi (#26 on the ladder ADC main, who got tryouts for the C9 team) would have been a better selection.
Which isn't to take anything away from Kenny's ADC play, he's looked great in the Ranked 5s I've seen, but it just seems like a suboptimal roster compared to what it could be.

yeah, he says he won't be streaming at all and I saw him streaming today in the morning, playing Rumble ^^

Some of these names are familiar but I do not believe based on what I see here that this will be a top challenger team, I don't think they'll come close to the old names in the scene and will probably be 4th at best.

I imagine eventually once Westrice hears back from schools he'll head off to school, leaving Kenny to move to top and Keith to move to starting ADC. Honestly, maybe they should just do that now - I don't see why they picked up Westrice at all.

CLG hopping on the Challenger bandwagon, as predicted. They probably need to get this team into LCS in order to sell it, with all their fines from Riot, lol.
In seriousness, I don't think this team will do much. Top and Jungle are meh.

I like the players on the team. Hopefully CLG Black 2.0 succeeds.

I dont undestand the point of having an academy team and then having old players that shoulda have retired long ago like Westrice

I think Westrice is in a position where he was trying to go pro for so long that it's hard for him to give it up. He actually looked good towards the end of the split, I don't think he was the biggest problem on Complexity. My guess is his mind is telling him it's time to move on and go to college, but he wants to be on a challenger team in case there's a possibility to give it another go. I don't blame him for not wanting to commit 100% to a challenger team again.

Lots of people give Westrice a hard time but he may be able to shine here. I remember when complexity was still FXOpen and won that challenger promotion series at MLG. West was the carry of the team and played top picks like Akali and Rengar. I know this was in 2013 but my point is the top lane isn't just Shyvana/Mundo/Renekton like it was when he joined the LCS so he may be able to pick up these carry tops again if the team gives him the freedom.

Easy was pretty good when he was in ggLA.

Looks like a decent enough team for taking on the challenger scene, still need to be convinced of westrice though, he's always underperformed in my eyes.

Although harsh, I agree. Challenger/Academy teams should be for developing burgeoning talent...not for benchwarmers.
