Former professional gamer Lee Kyeong-min (Horang2) has joined Samsung Galaxy's League of Legends' team as part of their coaching staff.
Horang2 joins the coaching staff for Samsung Galaxy after recently having completed his military service.
In 2008 he began his professional gaming career for the hite SPARKYZ team (now disbanded) and quickly became popular amongs fans for his quirky play and cute looks. He was also part of the SPARKYZ team that made it to the play-offs in the 2010-11 Shinhan Proleague season.
After the transition to SC2, he switched races from Protoss to Terran but quickly retired soon after. In December 2012, he entered the military and during this time his close friend, former SPARKYZ teammate Cho Jae-geol (Watch) introduced him to League of Legends.
Samsung's other coach, Choi Woo-beom (DoGGi) had some words to say about Horang2.
It was an opportunity for Horang2 to find some work after being discharged from the military and knowing him to be a good character it was appropriate to give him a chance to work as a coach for our team. After leaving the military he quickly climbed to Diamond rank so I knew he would be a good fit for our team.

Hmm, if no nuance was lost in translation, it seems like a tentative thing. "an opportunity ... to find some work" and " a chance to work as a coach".

After watching Samsung today, I just know they will be a top team once they have a bit more experience. Horang2 should be a great asset in achieving that.

I have a lot of faith in Blue's coach as well, should be fun to watch them over the season.

Oh shit, it's Horang2!
Maybe it's just the picture, but the photo on DES makes him look a lot older, lol.

Oh damn, great stuff. Glad to see!
Looking forward to seeing how they'll do.

Awesome! So many brood war players are becoming coaches, haha.
I think he'll be able to turn Samsung around. The players are all strong individually but need refinement to transition from being solo queue superstars to being a top tier team. They already looked better last night.

I am intrigued. Would love to see how he does as part of the Samsung staff.

Interesting sidenote, on the Starcraft side Samsung picked up FrOzen (aka CuteAngeL) as a coach, and moved Stork to a coaching role.
Let's see how this approach works out :D.

I have really high hopes for this Samsung team. I'm sure that with the right coaching staff they can really battle for top-3 in Korea in the next season, if they continue to improve as a team.
