Anyone else get a scary feeling that it isn't going to be LoL.... Theres another MOBA? thats good? dota..? not released yet Might be info on the release and an early circuit. i doubt dota will be released any time before the 4th quarter of this year. There is just too many things to do, the game is very very unfinished. What's the status of blizzard dota? I guess that is the other possible MOBA. Given MLG's flagship is starcraft, it is in blizzard's best interest to have MLG host Blizzard Dota. This also explains why the wait until after E3. Who would play in it, though? You need good players to hold a competition like that, and there aren't enough people to do that, really..

I just wish the tourney realm would do away with the spectating delay, even if it is reduced already. It's so weird seeing the playercam showing players finishing before the game shows it.

It could just be a trial run. (kinda like LoL at MLG raleigh last year)

It would be a silly business decision for MLG to not take LoL, there are simply too many viewers. I'm willing that he's either trying to stir up PR insinuating DotA 2 might get in over LoL to create controversy, which I don't believe. Or else he's trying to get something out of Riot in negotiations by threatening them with DotA 2, or to start a bidding war or something. Which is dumb because he's bluffing and Riot could just call his bluff, but they probably won't because they want to maintain dominance in that market.

Imma go out on a limb and say no there is no way it would be Blizz dota.

Blizzard Dota has had absolutely nothing. We'd just have random people, let alone actual teams, still trying to figure out how laning/jungling/champions works and running around learning the game as opposed to playing each other. I think it's still too early for it.
If anything, I guess HoN is the only other option?

Then you have to worry about players hearing the commentators, players being on skype/vent with spectators, messaged by specators, etc...

I'd be surprised if MLG didn't include LoL big time, I mean, you think they don't want 250k+ viewers? Why wouldn't they want that :|

I'd say Lol is the only and most sensible choice at this point, with the other being dota to test how popular it is in america

Could you imagine the backlash if MLG removed SC2 from the mainstage and put lol up there like IEM did?

I still think Cruzer is top LS for some reason. Maybe it's just because Cruzer has more videos of his cool Lee Sin moves than Voy. Not to take anything away from Voy though, he's obviously much, much more well rounded of a player.

there's no way it's going to be blizzard dota. literally no one has even played that game yet. if they add it, mlg will be a farce. dota2 is a possibility, but it's more likely going to be LoL.

This is exactly why I feel that MLG CAN'T say no to Blizzard if they ask MLG to host a Blizzard DOTA tournament. (even if it is for one MLG)
Why else would Sundance mention E3 in his tweets?
Maybe Blizz Dota is further along then we expect?
sigh.. edit: maybe it's all just hype

Ha, yes I could and part of me would love to see it ^___^ But it don't have to take SC2 off main stage, I'm quite sure us stream viewers couldn't care less if it's on main or side stage, so long as there's good games shown and hopefully with good casters (ou em gee bring jatt back)

Hmmm, I'm 14 RP from 975 RP (seriously, what the hell is with Riot's RP pricing?) but can't draw at all. Would there be any interesting mathematical things I could dick around with that might warrant 14 RP?

Wait, are people actually waiting and excited for Bliz dota?
I always kind of assumed Blizzard Dota was just kind of a joke mod not actually meant to be serious. I just dont see ANY way they could be competitive with LoL or dota.

In terms of live spectator experience I'd have to say SC2 has a better spectator experience. Mostly has to do with the casters I guess. High level LoL when there's no FB for 15 minutes is often tense, but there's no excitement. Watching random streams though, LoL is better because there's far more entertainment on LoL streams than on SC2 streams.

Why does the draft mode tutorial tip box say "The captains will now ban up to 4 champions" when in reality it's 6? They really should update it, it's hurting my brain.
